Maui Braces - Kahului — Attraction in Maui

Unprofessional is an understatement. I never would have thought that being a client at Maui Braces would result in me sitting in the chair with two big metal tools in my mouth while the hygienist decided to chat with another colleague. After this appointment I had to schedule an emergency appt because my wires were completely shredding the sides of my cheek. At that emergency appt, I found out that the person who was chatting while doing my braces put the entire thing in incorrectly. Not too mention, this happens quite frequently and interrupts my and my family's busy schedule. Similarly, Dr. Alex wildly underestimated the amount of time my braces would take during my first consultation. This led to built up confusion and upon question none of the hygienists could ever answer any of my questions. I am extremely dissatisfied with my time at Maui Braces-- If you must enter this place, go with Invisalign, pain free and no need to stress about their mishaps. EDIT: I have just read the response to this review. First, I can assure you that I WAS a patient in this clinic. Second, the fact that whoever wrote this reply brought up the tsunami shows complete insensitivity about the devastating natural disasters that affect our beautiful island. This just shows me everything I need to know about this "business." I walked into Hawaii Smile Designs with noticeably crooked bottom front teeth, a molar growing sideways, and an overbite. Dr. Verga came up with a plan for me using Spark clear aligners (which he says are superior to Invisalign). He and his staff gave me clear instructions on how to wear my aligners, and a year and a half later, I'm writing this with straight teeth, my molars facing in the correct direction, and no overbite. Along the way, a couple attachments popped off, and his staff was quick to get me in and glue them back on. Everyone in his office was as nice as can be and a pleasure to work with.

I will note that I'm in an Invisalign support group on Facebook. In my observation, the people who run into problems are often people who have dentists straighten their teeth, rather than orthodontist, who have years of training after dental school in straightening teeth. Also, when people try to straighten teeth too fast, they can run into problems. I'm delighted with my results, and recommend Dr. Verga to anyone on Maui who needs their teeth straightened, including senior citizens...
