Update: From 1 star to 5 stars
Today, July 23rd, I was just on the phone with Christy (co-owner of S. Market). She was very apologetic for what happened. And sincerely assured me that it will not happen again. It was just unfortunate that on that day, all their Managers had to take emergency leave. So the young man whom I talked to in their store was actually just an âActing Managerâ. She told me that their protocol was for him to call the owners in instances like ours. But that wasnât done. I accepted her apology. And told her that we will be back because we love shopping there and love the food in their cafe. I also told her that if they need assistance in basic training/educating their Managers and employees about people with unique needs, I have friends that can help her. She welcomed that idea too. What happened on that day was not good⊠but God can turn even bad situations into good opportunities for us to grow. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
July 20, 2025: We went around 2pm today to eat inside their cafe and to shop afterwards. We brought french fries and a juice drink for our son who has special needs (he has cp and autism). Upon entering the shop, the lady told us they donât allow outside food and drinks inside the shop. I explained that itâs for our son who has special needs, he doesnât eat anything from their menu. There are 5 of us who will order from their menu. Itâs just that my son has to have something to eat also. She said itâs their policy. So we asked for the Manager. Manager just told us that itâs their policy. He also said if the owner were there, maybe he would allow. I told him, thatâs why Manager is there⊠so he can decide for special cases like ours. They were firm that itâs their policy. So we just left and ate somewhere else. They lost 2 Asian families as customers. We live just 5mins away⊠have been going there to eat and shop. This is first time we went inside with our son. And sadly, this is the last time. I cannot support a business who will not support a family with special needs. Btw, we have been going to many other restaurants and we have never experienced any problem bringing outside food for our son. Whenever they see that he has special needs, they will already understand and we donât even have to...
Read moreWe had lunch in the cafe and then did some light shopping.
I've read mixed reviews about the cafe but we had a pleasant experience. The ordering process was a little unclear. However, we went to the register to pick up a menu and the ordering was pretty painless. We then received a buzzer/beeper to notify us while we continued shopping.
Once our food was ready, we popped over where a server handed us our food with a pleasant smile.
I was immediately impressed by the portion size--particularly my Kimchi fried rice. The food tasted freshly made to order. Everything tasted great. My commented that his bibimbap was the best he's had in the Valley. We both devoured our plates and we're satisfied.
As for groceries, we appreciated the selection and prices. Overall, the store appeared well organized and many items were fairly priced with a...
Read moreMy two children have enjoyed going to the asian market for their affordable prices on the seaweeds packages. They have many kinds of flavors to try from. Their asian cookies are also well affordable and have a variety of many different kinds. You have the ability to try a little bit of Asia :). Their coffees I'm sorry to say are pretty pricey. So it's just on what items you are looking for and what is there that us affordable. Today we had a great experience we had our cashier named Victor (who was knowledgeable, well skilled and down to earth) advise us that there is a mini restaurant that he has there. Has delights of light fresh food dishes and delicious light refreshments. I skimmed through the menu. Might return to get myself some sushi and a Boba refreshment next time đ thank you...
