This is a big park for Medford. There is no actual dog park, but plenty of room to walk or run your dog. Large grass field where soccer games are played, big play structure, sand volleyball courts with nets, tennis and I think basketball too. There is a run through kids water park in the summer, and a small gezebo for shade and seating. There are also picnic tables, parking and plenty of shade trees. Disposal and doggie bags available and bathrooms available on play structure side of park. A paved walking trail goes around the entire thing. There is also a set up for some type of bungee ball game I forgot the name of. I do know that for it there are three big tree posts in a triangle and a sign about it. Dogs have to be on a leash. They have been cracking down on fines here apparently (I hate those rules for people that have responsible dogs). They keep it green, and well kept! Towards back of park a lot of homeless hang around under the trees. I found human feces with toilet paper by a tree the other day that my dog almost ate and have found numerous other questionable items so watch what your kids and pets are getting into! If you have to park at the school across the street and walk across to the park, the pavement going onto the street has a big lip. I tripped on it with my toddler in my arms last time and we ended up having to go to the ER. (Added just in case anyone else is as clumsy as I am.) Seriously shouldn't be a lip...
Read moreI absolutely love this park. There are so many options and spaces that are for different activities with disability accessible facilities, wide pathways, large picnic areas, and playgrounds, which i think is super fantastic. The playground features a special soft but firm sponge like flooring in the specially designed wheelchair accessible portion of the playground. They have really made an effort to make this park accessible to all children. Children who are not necessarily mobility challenged but who may fall on spectrum seem to really enjoy the spinning apple and texture of the playmat flooring. (I've met several Spectrum parents sharing with their children the space as i am sharing with mine. The journeys and adventures they go on at this park are truly special. Main playground features several slides and various vertical bars/monkey bar style sections with platforms. There is a Free Book donation stand but it rarely has books. I try and bring some books to share when I can. The picnic seating area is well sized and I've frequently seen large events celebrated here. There are also parl specific community events like Easter egg hunts that are wonderful to...
Read moreWe walk our dogs in the park and pick up after them. We also see other people there walking their dogs too. I am concerned with the smell of weed killer that was very strong near the parking lot on the school side. I would appreciate it being posted when there is spraying done. It has been confirmed that weed killer causes cancer. There are children and pets that frequent the park and we need to protect them. The park does not seem to be maintained as well as it used to be when the grounds keeper was there most of the time. I think his name was Dennis. I think he retired. The park now has so many transient type people there I don't feel safe walking the dogs by myself anymore. We own our home and pay taxes in the city of Medford and would appreciate it being taken better...
