Escape the Park — Local services in Medicine Park

We’ve done probably 30-40 escape rooms across Oklahoma, and we are excited that one is now in our backyard! We did the Dirty Money room.

Pros: Staff is very nice Building is very nice Room was very nice, props are appropriate to the story and the use of technology is widespread (only a few physical key and combo locks) The dragon is super cool!

Cons: The clues: Some of the clues are poorly designed, require knowledge that isn’t necessarily common and the room doesn’t give you, or don’t do a good job of leading you to the next clue. The hints: The hints are pre-recorded and if you are stuck on a certain part, all they will do is replay the same recorded hint until you are passed that part. One hint was helpful, one hint was sort of helpful, and one hint was not helpful at all. In all other escape rooms we have done, the staff has given us hints that are “live” hints, that is, hints that are specific to what we are struggling with that actually point us in the right direction. We didn’t really feel like the prerecorded hints did that.

Overall, we had fun, but the room was pretty frustrating due to the two “cons” I listed. I think with some tweaking this would be a really fun room that moves smoothly between clues. We will return to support this business, especially once the...

Overall horrible experience….we booked for 4pm we arrived at 350 noone was here. Was told the employee was running late, she got here at 4:15 not an apology from her nor the owner i spoke to on the phone! I paid the deposit when i booked, i came in waiting to pay the rest NOT ONCE DID THEY TELL ME THEY ALREADY CHARGED MY CARD! So while the girl is running around getting the business ready it wasnt until 450 that the game finally started, we have to have my son back to basic training and wanted to do dinner before going back but due to them being late we werent able to get dinner! But once she got them set up i still stood at the counter waiting to pay the balance she continues to walk around went outside came back in locked the door we came in unlocked the back door ALL WHILE STILL NOT SPEAKING! As im still standing there waiting to pay my balance, while hoping theyd maybe be generous and offer a discount of some sort due to their negligence and nothing. She goes in a room and shuts the door. So i walk out side and check my card and low and behold they went in and added the chatge to my card again NOT SAYING A WORD! We are a family of 4 and have done several escape rooms before (mostly in Missouri). We have now been to escape the park twice and we have had issues both times. We are totally ok with not getting out, but having issues with props just stinks! We did dirty money last July and we understand being a new escape room, there may be a couple quirks. After a disappointing loss, we thought we would give this place a second chance this May and did the Tesla room. However, we also had issues with props… you must break their own rules and use excessive force to open a prop, a hidden number was wiped off, a diagram is just completely wrong, clues not leading to each other, and after we failed the room and were walking through the next step or two, the game master tried a prop and it just didn’t even work. We aren’t very impressed and for a more expensive escape room ($34/person with 4 people) we will just find another room elsewhere.
