A lovely park in Melbourne Beach, Fl This park is located at the turn where Ocean Ave turns north and becomes Riverside Drive. It is across from Djon’s Steak and Lobster house and to the west of the Fire station. It has several nice features to it. There is the historical Ryckman and Beaujean houses and railroad tracks, a pier, and a playground. The parking is directly in front of the park along the road. The spaces are numbers and there is a pay station for your convenience. It cost about $2/hour. There are several informational displays by the houses and the pier. The pier is very nice and can give you a lovely view of the sunset across the water and has a unique design feature that allows you to walk on the outside of the pier. The playground has a basketball court, swing set, and jungle jim. Along the path is a set of post with road signs with distances to different locations around the globe. All parts of the park seem very clean and well kept. There is a set of restrooms behind the Ryckman house. Overall, I thought this was a very nice park for walking, playing or learning the history of the local area. Definitely a good place to stop if you are...

Original review update on 6/15/24: Since my first review down below, they have changed it to where you have to pay to park. The fee to park is $2.50 for an hour and a half. The signs state “Thank you! Your parking fees help maintain our parks” which is obviously understandable but what I don’t understand is why they would lock the restrooms at 6pm and not notify the public of this prior to paying the parking fee? If my parking fee helps maintain the park (which the restrooms are a part of) then why would I not be able to use the restrooms during the time that I paid for the use of the park? Makes zero sense. Very inconvenient if you have young kiddos who have to go potty during their playtime while at the playground.

Original review: This is one of our favorite parks/playgrounds to visit in the Melbourne, FL area. The views are absolutely gorgeous, especially when you get to catch a gorgeous sunset off the pier. It has three different playgrounds for the little ones, so plenty of choices regardless of what age group your kiddos fall into. It has a basketball court, restrooms and of course the...

This is a great area near the pier with free parking. Besides the lovely park with basketball, tennis, and a playground for kids, the historic Ryckman House is always a delight! To hear the story of Ruth Ryckman, who never married and died in the house her father built, will leave you curious to learn more. Often one can see the image of her ghost figure behind the lace curtains of the upstairs window. The house is well preserved and a very important part of Melbourne Beach history. There is no charge to take a self guided tour. I highly recommend this place for a fun and educational way to spend a few hours. The pier is within walking...

It has 3 separate playgrounds for the kids, ranging in size and this to me is huge. In a great way. I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old and they could both play here. Plus the older kids running around could clearly also play . There is a basketball court and you can walk down the dock to fish or just look at the beautiful River. Great place to have birthday parties too! They have a pavilion for that, along with bathrooms! It looks small until you walk around and you realize there is plenty of space at that park. Only downside is you have to pay to park if you don't live in the area. And there isn't alot of parking. Still worth it in my opinion.
