Atmosphere is great and food is beyond amazing! We were there for brunch and having a good time. The waitress spilled the Mimosas all over my fiancé and her friend, all the manager said was "are you ok?"... we drank, had food, and got our checks. No compensation or anything was done for our check, I talked to the manager... he was apologetic and ended up taking care of both bills... I wasn't expecting that at all. I went to the ATM near by to tip the waitress, as I'm walking back in the owners girlfriend/wife... not sure what she is. She decided to rudely ask me "do we have a problem?" I confusedly asked "do we have a problem?" As we walked in... my fiancé told me to leave it alone and then the girlfriend/wife rudely tells my fiancé "can I pay for ur dry cleaning?" (But said it sarcastically and disrespectfully)... as my fiancé tried to defuse the situation. The head chef then came over and once again apologized, he and I walked outside to calm the situation while my fiancé, daughter and friend stayed inside. While inside the owners girlfriend/wife tried once again to get rude/come at my fiancé like she was going to fight with her while she had our 3 months old daughter in her arms and at that point she had her boyfriend/husband/owner come over and tell us to leave. While outside the head chef was very nice and apologized once again for everything. I told him that lady should not be allowed to deal with customers since he and the manager had handled the situation and defused everything and had calmed it down. She made everything worse by making a comment after the situation was handled, he agreed with me and once again apologized.
This lady thinks she is better then everyone and should not be allowed to be a "owner" of anything, she doesn't know how to handle customers/patrons... as a owner/manager/worker the customer always comes first and should be treated respectfully. This woman, whoever she is should not be allowed in a restaurant or any work place. This is not how you treat customers that come into your business. To the Chef, Manager, Waitress, and workers I apologize for this and you guys did an amazing job, thank you for your service. To the Owner... you should not let your wife/girlfriend near your business since she gives you and your business a bad name. Keep her far away from Oceans 302... it's amazing place and has amazing food... but this woman should not be allowed...

We had 12 for dinner and both the service and the food were impeccable! The entire restaurant has this upscale industrial loft feel, mixed with rustic charm. The food was mega fresh and the flavors popped with every dish. We had almost every appetizer on the menu and none disappointed. Dov Goldenberg, the GM was on hand and he assisted the entire party with selecting exactly the dish that that would please their palate, along with helping to choose a wine to compliment it as well. Highlights of the appetizers were the Fungi Bruschetta (wild mushrooms, black garlic, truffle goat mousse and a Balsamic glaze...so much umami), East Coast Risotto (smooth as velvet with crab, shrimp and lobster mushroom oil), and the Breaking Bread which is a sunchoke-artichoke-spinach-mascarpone-herbed feta piece of heaven!! All the flavors were balanced nicely in each one. Oh, and lets not forget the Duck Fat Fries!!!! Crispy and delish!
Among the entrees were the Tipsy Scallops seared to perfection (with this incredible garlic mascarpone celeriac puree), the Kicking Shorty's Pasta (Short Ribs in a spicy bolognese with roasted tomato concasse and a PEACH CHUTNEY!! Wow! the pasta was a pappardelle...my favorite!), and the Wahoo special...only snagged a teeny bite of that, but it was delicious! All their seafood was cooked to perfection! Several of our party ordered the Brick oven Pizza's (Havana Nights, and Seafood Heaven) and said they were as good as any New York brick oven pizza they ever had.
Stormy, our server was on point all night. She totally rocked it! Right there whenever anyone had a request or a question. And Matt, another server, assisted with group pictures, and totally entertained with his quick wit and sense of humor. And, we got to meet one of the owners Taryn who went above and beyond for my birthday with a champagne toast for the table! All in all a fantastic experience! We will be...
Read moreIf this place were cheaper (think one $) I would give it a pass, maybe 3 stars. But this place is extremely expensive. The steaks are MP ($40 when I ordered). I had the "Fungi Bruschetta" which was a mushroom topped, balsamic soaked crostini. It was quite mediocre. For one, even being soaked in balsamic, the bread was stale and hard to eat. The mushrooms were good, but the ratio was not good, as there were far too many mushrooms on one crostini, and hence, it was very rich and filling, which might ruin your appetite (ironic considering it is called an appetizer). I would give it a 2/5. Next was the entree, the worst of the day. I ordered a New York strip steak medium rare. It came out medium well in the center and well done at the edges. Despite this horrible overcooking, the crust was non-existent, but it was still dry. I am not sure how this is possible. This is easily the worst steak I have ever eaten in my life. The truffle butter was also borderline flavorless. I refuse to rate this dish based on how utterly flavorless and putrid it was. If I had to, 0/5. Lastly, the lava cake. I would like to start off by saying, despite what the restaurant says, this is not a lava cake. It is a pudding cake. This does not take away from the fact that this was a respectable dish. The flavor was good on the cake, very chocolatey and rich. The ice cream was vanilla ice cream. 3.5/5. This is my opinion, but the restaurant was quite ugly and I did have a migraine coming out. The service was the best part of the restaurant. That should say something, as it was not very good either. Highlight: I ordered sweet tea and got unsweetened tea. Overall: do NOT go here. Bad food, mediocre everything else. Very sad. Went for father's day. Came out...
