I tried 4 times to try to get an audition of a music server to no avail. That included dragging my in (doing all the work) and downloading the driver to the DAC they had on the floor. They were nice and carry nice but a limited amount of equipment. I can't complain about the service but it just appears to me that unless you want to spend megabucks (and not that what I was interested in was cheap) they don't care all that much. I ended up buying a different (lightly used) music server over the web from a dealer in Illinois. There is no point to have local dealers when one can't audition the stuff. I definitely won't be going back. I think four chances (brought music - something they had didn't work - loaded it on their network and told them I'd come back in four weeks - didn't work, then told them I'd bring my music server in - didn't work and then they were going to lend it to me short term - told them they could come over and they would be in and out in half an hour - no interest on their part) with all the work on my...
Read moreVisiting from out of town, I stopped by Audible images as I'm on an audiophile bender... researching products for an affordable 2 channel system for my office. Met the owner Ed who is exactly the kind of guy you would want to design a system for you with his electrical engineering background. I told him I wanted to hear some affordable speakers and he let me hear the KEFs I had come to hear, as well some PSB bookshelfs that were great. But... Ed could not resist and in his enthusiasm, he let me hear his Wilsons... that I told him I would never be able afford... then he let me hear his higher end Wilsons with the complete system costing roughly a third of the value of my home. He's got 3 excellent listening rooms set up which can give you a better idea of what the equipment will sound like in different sized rooms. Anyway, Ed is passionate and if you ever buy audio gear from a Big Box store instead of stopping by Ed's store, you are missing out. 5 stars based on my...
Read moreI had the privilege of meeting Ed Masterson at his studio recently, and the audio demonstration he provided was nothing short of astounding. Listening to a concert on his theater system, it genuinely felt as if the band was right there in the room with us. Having been a musician for years and having experienced numerous professional audio setups, the clarity and instrument separation in Ed's system stands unparalleled. Beyond the impressive equipment, I left enriched with a deeper understanding of how our minds perceive music. Ed doesn't just possess an expertise in audio — he has a profound ear that's tailor-made for this industry. His passion is evident; he's not just a technician, but a true artist. I can't recommend him highly enough. If you're passionate about sound, you must pay...
