The Hair Haus — Attraction in Melbourne

I’ve never written an online review before, but after much consideration over the past few months, I feel compelled to share my experience. A couple of months ago, I visited Hair Haus, a beautiful salon with a lovely interior. I appreciated that their website featured the stylists' bios and areas of expertise. Since I was looking for a new haircut, I noticed that "August the Hair Witch" specialized in layers. Having had layered hair for years and knowing what works, I was excited and booked an appointment.

Let me start by saying that August is a kind and friendly person, which is why I hesitated for so long to write this review. Unfortunately, I am incredibly disappointed with the results of my haircut. After my hair was washed, August began cutting with a razor. While I’m no professional, I’ve seen plenty of good layering work done, and it’s rarely done with a razor. August used the razor to glide down my hair, and though I tried to trust the process, the final result was not what I had hoped for.

Nearly three months later, I still look at my hair in the mirror and feel dissatisfied. The layers are poorly executed—they’re thin, undefined, and lack the bounce and shape I’ve had with other layered cuts. My hair looks limp and flat instead of lively and textured.

The reason I’m writing this review is because August’s bio specifically states she specializes in layers, and based on my experience, I believe that to be misleading. If you’re looking for a stylist who truly excels at layering, I would recommend seeking another...

I’ve been going to the hair haus for about 3 years now. Nina and Matteo are the absolute best! Them, along with all of their stylists, have always been extremely welcoming any time I come into the salon. Whether I’m coming in for a hair appointment or products I’ve always felt welcome, acknowledged, and leave feeling like they really make a point to make sure I have everything I need. Nina is literally a hair wizard. I’ve never left disappointed. I’ve had a longer shaggy cut to a French bob and she’s killed it every single time. She listens to what I want, and also made sure I waited a couple months before chopping my hair into a bob to make sure I had no regrets. I’ve taken my husband to Gracie for a trim on his hair when it was long, and she also recently has cut it shorter for him and he’s obsessed! We both love how our hair feels and smells after every appointment! He also says Gracie is the absolute best at hair washing! 10/10 will always recommend...

If you need a Hairstlyist, stop here, look no further! I probably can’t accurately describe Nina and how amazing she is at what she does, because it’s truly beyond words! She has grown into a professional quicker than I’ve ever witnessed anyone grow at their career. She was born to do hair. She’s a hair wizard. She’s the GOAT in the cosmetology world of hair. I am a mom of 2 under 2 who tends to put my hair styling last on my list. Every time I go see Nina she not only makes me feel beautiful, she also listens to my wants and needs and has me leaving her salon with one less stressor because I know my hair is flawless and will last until I feel like I need another dose of Nina. I have never gotten a quick fix that’ll hold me over 2 weeks before I have to go back in. I go back every 6 weeks or so because I want to versus have to. I truly appreciate that about her work! I’ll continue to go to this salon until I can’t anymore!...
