Kohls hired a company called the retail equation. This company has convinced Kohls to deny returns that FOLLOW THEIR POLICY. I personally have never returned anything without a receipt and on time. Suddenly they said I couldn’t return a DEFECTIVE purse, ordered online, with receipt. I DID NOT get a verbal warning. In the past couple of years I shopped for my elderly grandmother, my two kids, myself, my husband so maybe use some critical thinking skills when you look at a list of returns……maybe they are for multiple people in a family. I admit, I did things like purchase 10 pairs of shoes so my 95 year old grandma could find a pair that were comfortable. I did the same for clothes. I told the cashiers exactly what I was doing. I also admit I returned 9 pairs of shoes and multiple items of clothing and explained to the cashier why. My grandma can’t go to the store like so many others that are home bound, so congratulations you have made it harder for the elderly to get things they need from your company!! Shameful! I also did the same for my mom who had Alzheimers. Some of my returns were because I received dirty and /or defective stuff from orders online. Lack of packaging is why for most. Delicate items like bras came snagged and dirty thrown in a box. I received sizes I did not order. Do you expect me to keep wrong sizes? I did order some things on accident because the items were in my cart. My bad! I pointed all of this out when I returned the items. How exactly are we to shop online without having returns when the store doesn’t have it to try on or to look at colors and styles? I am now stuck with a DEFECTIVE purse. How is this even a business tactic? Who would think it is a good idea to not allow valid returns abiding by the company policy? Customers won’t go back concerned it will happen because no guidelines are provided. Kohls refuses to tell customers how many VALID returns are allowed which is extremely unethical. I did the dispute process which is a joke. Kohls confirmed I had too many returns. How many is too many…..no one will ever know. Are you forcing customers to keep merchandise to increase revenue? Read moreForced into getting a Kohl's Charge card. When signing up, I was told it was a rewards card, not a credit card. I swiped my credit card after signing up, and now when I'm talking to Bethany Williams (who seems to be in charge of customer services for Kohls), I'm being told that they did not collect my credit card information. Then who has it? This store is super shady. On top of all of this, they have been illegally harassing me over the phone with their debt collectors.
Also, Bethany Williams told me to email her back if I have any more questions or concerns about this issue. I emailed her over a week ago, and she hasn't responded.
I've been trying to work with them about this issue, but it appears that they do not care and that they want to shut me up.
Just shop at JCPenney's instead. It's right across the street, and you wont have issues with them.
Update: I have been going back and forth with Kohl's about this issue. They are not giving me any answers. I'm asking them these simple questions:
Why was I deceived into getting a Charge Account? Why was I told that it was a rewards card?
Why was my credit card information collected by your cashier? If your company did not get my credit card information, then who did?
They have not been able to even acknowledge my questions. This is unbelievable. Do not shop at Kohl's.
On November 4, 2014, I received another email from Bethany Williams (Sr. Executive Correspondence Advisor of Kohl's) and she said "i apologize for any inconvenience and confusion regarding this matter. I am considering this matter resolved". The matter is NOT resolved and now they are refusing to talk to me. This store is a joke. Do not go to Kohl's.

Read moreI have been a 15 year MVP credit card holder of Kohl's. But, not anymore. I have many issues with Kohl's and the fact there is no customer service, they discriminate and charge twice for items, as well as signed me up for some new rewards program.3 Times on line, AND never got anything, I recently signed up in the store,and was told I had 100 points which I could use at anytime. According to the person who signed me up, said 100 points is $5. I was given no instructions either in person or in writing. I was never told the points expired in 30 days. I was never told the only way I could use my points was notifying Kohl's by phone so they could send me coupon to use. So the card is only for racking up points! July 18th and again on July21 attempted to call "corporate customer service, customer service relations, some one in Corporate that had some authority. It never happened. I guess it just does not exist. July 18-I was on the phone for 2 1/2 hours and spoke to 8 people. I never knew so many stupid people get paid for being stupid, giving our incorrect information,being rude and really not knowing anything. On July 21, I attempted to try again, thinking only the dumb ones worked on weekends and the ones who could help me on a Monday. I was so, so wrong. Monday was worse. 9 people this time for 3 hours.. NO ONE HAD A CLUE AS TO WHAT TO DO. Sometime in the next week or so,I will file discrimmiination complaints (based on Kohl's only communicates with its customers via email. Thus people who do not have computers/ email can not get their reward points . Discrimination against those who may not be able to afford a computer, some one who has a disability who cannot use a computer, and the elderly. I live in a community of 8,000 a majority who do NOT have a computer.
