Mill Pond Plaza — Attraction in Menomonee Falls

Looking for a relaxing place to stroll in downtown Menomonee Falls, I always enjoy walking on this tranquil promenade along the Menomonee River.

There are paths on either side of the river, punctuated by the dam for the Mill Pond, resulting in a lovely waterfall. When I visited this spot on the first day of Spring, 2019, the thawing of significant winter snow had resulted in a powerful sight: The waterfall (it’s not the actual Menomonee Falls, which are a few hundred yards down river) was more vigorous than I’ve ever seen.

Excellent little park plaza with a peaceful meandering river that ends up funneled into a dam, and then into a beautiful set of falls. Very peaceful and well cared for by the village and the community itself. The wildlife is abundant and well adjusted to human presence, but not overly so to the degree that humans are not a source of food. If you're in the area and need a quiet, clean place to connect with God in a small chunk of nature, you've found it...
