Took a trip here to see what they had. Mainly looking to see about preorders for Yugioh. Everything looked great and was nice until I got to the Pokémon section. I was shocked at their prices for pokemon TCG. I asked the owners daughter why their prices are so high. Her reply was the distributors where raising prices on pokemon. I immediately asked her if she has proof of that and her tone turned from nice to not wanting to answer any more questions. I’m not one to hold my tongue. But I did. So why one star. Well it’s simple. The owners daughter lied straight to my face. Anyone who is a collector, pokemon YouTuber, scalper, or player of pokemon knows that distributors are not raising prices on pokemon. On top of that I had to repeatedly ask the price on products because I couldn’t see prices on their products. This store has a huge amount of pokemon products that I have been looking for and I was told that they are having a hard time getting pokemon products from their distributor. However they have a whole wall full of booster packs box’s. They even had raised their price on the new battle styles set. With that said I did end up buying some Yugioh products (not bad prices) and some pokemon (reasonably priced) but I will not step in this store to buy pokemon tcg products again. The fact that the owners daughter lied to me about why their prices are high floors me. This store is simply going off scalpers prices and not actual prices. If you read this to this point I suggest not waisting your time for pokemon tcg from this store who lies to their customers to ensure sales and I suggest not supporting any business that lies to their customers. If your like me and frustrated that you can’t get your hands on pokemon tcg just give it time. Don’t fall for this stores excuse as to the high prices. There is are other local shops that doesn’t lie to their customers and the friendly environment. Update: I brought my review from google over to Facebook where the owner did defend her daughter and I respect her for that. She also showed a picture of “proof” for their high prices. She mentioned that she had ordered from Walmart and that was part of the reasoning for higher prices. However the orders looked to be from a second party on Walmart as the prices where not the prices you would see from something sold and shipped from Walmart(.com). I explained that I still don’t agree with their prices, I still feel as though I was lied to, and that I respect her for defending her daughter as I would do the same. That said if some of the items they did buy “to make sure they have items in stock” was in-fact from Walmart and shipped by Walmart, they took items that many people like me are waiting to come available online to order, ordered it, then brought it into the store, and raised the price. I also stated in my reply to the owner that I understand the pricing for the older stuff, but the new stuff I do not as it’s still in production and really no reason to be that high. The prices are scalped prices if not higher. The owner then deleted their reply. The store has also since turned off reviews on Facebook. To me and this is my opinion. This store is not a store I recommend at all. The fact that they hid the reviews raises a concern to me. The store again if the products they bought where in-fact sold and shipped by Walmart took away from people who are waiting to get items for retail price and brought the items into the store only to put scalpers prices or higher just so they can “make sure they have items in stock.” The last thing I want to note is that they also defended their raised prices by stating that if they sold the pokemon products at normal price, they like everyone else would be sold out. So instead of caring about making sure their customers are satisfied with prices, limiting the quantity someone can purchase, and etc, to me this sounds as though the store is more concerned about making sure they have product in store. And an excuse. With everything that was stated from the owner I stand by my review and DO...
Read moreOne of the worst game store experiences I have had.
I went in to sell cards, but was told to come back the next day because staff were “too busy” (there was only one customer in the store). When I returned, a different staff member said she did not recognize my cards and that the first employee would be in “big trouble” for accepting them. She agreed to make an offer but insisted I stay in the store while she scanned, implying I might try to “dump bulk” otherwise.
After I returned 30 minutes later, she was barely started and continued to complain and sigh while going through my cards. At one point she even accused me of trying to sell a fake card. The process dragged on for two hours past closing, only for them to offer less than 20 percent of Card Kingdom buylist (the store offered $50 or $75 store credit; CK offered $255 or $335 store credit.)
This experience showed poor communication, lack of professionalism, and little product knowledge. What should have taken 30 minutes turned into a two-day, three-hour ordeal for a...
Read moreFairly nice store, they sell lots of pokemon and mtg. I don’t collect either, so I can’t speak to the prices. Their pins seem to be from places like aliexpress and the loose stickers look like they’re from those “50+ piece” sticker sets you find on amazon full of random peoples’ fanart. Many of the loose game mats for sale have low resolution images and appear to have AI images or images taken from google. A lot of the pokemon plushies appear to be bootleg as well unfortunately. Aside from those, it’s a nice store. It’s the only place around here that sells army painter paints, and has decent prices for them. They have many dnd miniatures and dnd books. They also sell warhammer at a slight discount which is nice, but they don’t seem to get new sets, citadel tools, or citadel paints in often (they do have plenty of army painter tools however). The warhammer section does seem neglected- there’s things in front of one of the shelves.
If they stopped selling the aliexpress/AI image products/knockoff plushies, I would rate them...
