Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Attraction in Mentor

A friend and I went shopping there Thursday because they carry air fresheners I cannot find anywhere else. I bought 24 of them, I placed 6 each in four boxes and picked up a few more items (cart wasn’t close to being full). By the time we got in line there were three to four people in front of us (only one register available). Soon as I walked up the cashier asked the lady could she ring up my items. The lady bagging looked slightly uncomfortable. I started to walk out but I really wanted the air fresheners. I’m standing there confused as well. Then it hit me while she was bagging my items and I would reach for the bag she would snatch her hand back quick. Yes I’m black but I wasn’t rude or disrespectful in any way. I paid but as we were leaving out the “bagger” immediately went back to the register. I contacted support and the excuse they offered was even worse than the situation!! Needless to say, Ollies will Never get another...

I use to Love Ollie's but we went there today and it was a disaster! It was dirty and All the isles were disheveled. Nothing was folder. Set in place or evenchardly findable. I thought I was the only one who thought this but all rheumatologist customers behind us were saying similar things! They could not find what they were looking for its always sold out ect. There was w cashier and a long line she called for help a few times finally a manager came and called on his radio for cashiers. Someone finally answered back and said what do you need .. After maybe 10 minutes someone came to ring cashier and the other told the lady looking for something it was sold out lol Sad To See The Store In Such Bad Shape Looks Like No One Cares...

I appreciate their employing seniors, however, when shoppers have a cart full of items and the cashier's are up in age and a little slow it's a bit of a headache how long you have to wait in line. Many times there's only one line. Maybe a bagger to help the cashier would speed up the process. Also, I can appreciate a wonderful greeting when it's my turn but I don't want to have a full out conversation because that slows the cashier down even more.

The items they carry are good. Some items are a little pricey, and the aisles are a bit messy and crowded by overstock but for the most part it's a fairly decent discount store. I've been shopping here for years and I will continue...
