I ordered sneakers online with next-day delivery through the Famous Footwear website, not realizing the delivery would be handled by DoorDash. The next day, the DoorDash driver called me to say the store was closed and she didnât know what to do. She told me to cancel the order with DoorDash â but I had purchased directly from Famous Footwear, so I wasnât sure how I could cancel something through a third-party delivery service I never signed up for.
I called the store to ask for help, and instead of assistance, I was met with an angry response. The person on the phone snapped at me and said the employee had to close the store due to a car accident in the family. I completely understand and sympathize with that â emergencies happen. But I wasnât calling to complain about the closure. I just needed guidance. I asked if I could pick up the shoes another day, and she continued to be rude, insisting I had to cancel through DoorDash. I tried to explain that I bought the shoes directly from them, not through DoorDash, and just needed help figuring things out.
I stayed calm and polite through the entire call, despite being spoken to harshly. I even asked, âWhy are you angry at me?â and was told it was because her employee had a family emergency. I get it â but I was also having a rough day myself. I had just been in a minor car accident, got a call from my sonâs school that he was in trouble, and later found out my cats were outside because a door was left open. Still, I didnât take it out on anyone. I just needed to find a way to get my sonâs sneakers.
To make things worse, when I called customer service to try again, I was hung up on while giving my order number. Iâve remained respectful throughout, but this has been an incredibly disappointing experience. I expected more support from a...

Read moreWow this place has gone downhill. Their signage is almost impossible to see... trees are overgrown. By the time you see it, you've past the exit or entrance. It feels like more than half of the signs in the mall are either burned out, halfway burned out or flickering as they are about to burn out. The hours are all over the place. Posted hours on a Saturday have stores closing at 9pm. Some are open until then, many closed at 6, some at 7, some at 8... some have their hours posted on their door as 9pm, yet there is a (paper) sign saying "closing early". Even an 'anchor' store like Bloomingdales. Closed at 7pm. Mall hours are 9pm. Their store hours are posted to 8pm. So inconsistent.
In ten years this mall feels neglected, very ghetto like and very "maintenance challenged". Having each store set their own hours at a whim is dangerous, because I for one will probably NOT be going back to this mall as my last two experiences were hit or miss with funky store hours all over the place. Especially when you are seeking out a specific store, drive to the mall, park, walk to the store, only to find some sign taped to the door. There needs to be standardization and cohesiveness throughout the mall.
And those flickering burned out signs. Reminds me of the red light districts of...
