UPDATE: I want to take this time to thank the owners of RACHEL’s hair salon especially Mrs. Rachel for redoing my hair and achieving beyond my expectations and took their time reaching out to me to make everything right for their customer. I am so OBSESSED of what RACHEL did to my hair. I wasn’t even expecting anymore to see the color I wanted but she still managed to achieve it. She took her time and stayed late at the salon for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH MS RACHEL. You are the best!

Hi, I would like to share my experiences/thoughts after my appointment yesterday. This review is not meant to be against the company but hopefully to help this business to be better by hearing their customers. I am a fan of Rachel’s salon from what I heard from the people I know that went to their salon. I was so excited about this appointment and I had high hopes. I was positive that it would not be the same hair appts I had before where they gave me hopes but failed to get what color I was asking and went home knowing I spent a lot of time and money for it. I think this appointment could’ve been better. I was asking for just a simple balayage/highlights of silver/ash gray. My hair is shorter than the shoulder length, dark hair, I haven’t had my hair dyed for almost 2 years and had my hair cut really short. The lady who did my hair (not Rachel) explained that it would be hard to aim for the color I wanted and did a 30 minute test and was suggesting maybe a different darker color. I expressed how open I am to what she thinks would work for my hair as long as I wouldn’t go home with red/orange color this time and she assured me it wouldn’t happen. I don’t know what made her decide but she changed her mind and said she will try and she thinks it would still work with the silver color but the only thing is the lower part would be darker gray and I agreed because she knows better than I do and I was given an assurance it will be okay, so I had hopes. She tried her best to get the silver color and on the process she mentioned she thinks it’s going well not until 5 hrs later in the end she was worried it didn’t really come out as what we were expecting. I was so tired but I still tried to be nice and be positive. She blowed dried my hair and soon enough I see not a single hair strands is showing silver/ash gray but more orange/red. 😭 Another failure. She didn’t even fix my hair and was already in a rush to get my hair done. I was still nice and thankful. They didn’t informed me about the pricing and the fee for bleaching your hair which I wish they explained that in the beginning. Second, I wish they just did a different color that I would see the right results than still expecting silver/gray but didn’t come out. Third, I spent $230 because the fees for the bleach that they had to do on my hair twice which is a lot of money for my short hair and leaving the salon I didn’t even get the hair color I wanted and it’s red/orange. :(( I thought they’re going to be reasonable not to ask for that much amount since they didn’t achieved the color. I’m new to AZ and when I moved here the heat damaged my hair. As of yesterday, my hair was tangling and on its way to becoming a birds nest so I immediately looked for hair salon places and came across this one with great reviews. I also loved the area because we are a fan of the restaurants across the street. I quickly booked an appointment and I understood why they were so busy. As soon as I showed up I was greeted by all three individuals that were working at the time. They were all busy and still had the time to acknowledge your presence. I was offered water, I was addressed by my name and honestly it felt like I was in a room with my friends and family, they were all so welcoming and kind. I got my hair washed and oh my gosh it felt amazing. This is where my tangles came to light and the hair dresser was patient, kind and reassuring that we would be able to get them out and have my hair go back to healthy with a layered cut. As she was cutting my hair, she checked on me and made sure I was doing okay because of the tangles and she explained what products to use and how to avoid tangles especially in the heat. So everything was good from the beginning because we had spoke about what I wanted to do to my hair and she said it was gonna be $240 So I was like cool let’s run it and then she started to bleach my hair and because it didn’t come out the way she wanted it she bleached it again and then it looked like she was just gonna leave me like that when I had told her from the beginning that I wanted maroon on the top and blonde on the bottom so she goes OK don’t worry, honey. I will. Put the Maroon on top And I was like OK thank you cause I had told you in the beginning that I want in my room and you said OK So I’m in there for eight hours And I got there at 11 AM as we’re getting to time to pay. She tells me OK honey here’s how much it’s gonna be. And I was like go ahead and charge me five more dollars I said instead of $240 to $245 for tip And she goes no honey. I told you 240 for bleaching only I said no no no no that was not the agreement. well, it’s gonna be $320 and I said I’m not paying that because that’s not my fault that that lady had told me $240. If she would’ve told me she was gonna charge me more than 240.
