I booked a 90 minute massage with Ellen.
Front desk: Accomodating and friendly. They greeted me warmly, helped me update my medical history and offered me water or tea. While I waited I could hear front desk gossiping (personally doesn’t bother me but this might rub others the wrong way)
Massage therapist: My massage therapist grabbed me a little late which I did not love because I was then dismissed a little early. & every minute counts when it comes to a massage you paid for. I will say Ellen is the first to sit down & have an actual consultation with me and discuss my lifestyle, problem areas and goals for our session. She enhanced my experience by providing recommendations that made sense like using CBD for my carpal tunnel symptoms and offering leg stretching since I didn’t want to massage them. Her massage was the most therapeutic I’ve had thus far. She really is talented in her craft and gave my body relief. The technique was great. A few things were distracting: conversation about personal stuff during the beginning and ending parts of the massage. & during, I kept hearing a wrapper opening followed by her biting onto something that sounded like a mint, whatever she placed in her mouth produced extra saliva and so then I was hyper fixated on hearing her swallow too. Listen, we are all human! & I don’t hold this stuff against her, but I do want to provide constructive criticism. Because if she can tweak those stuff, get that client in on time (give them back their time when things happen & you run behind) , provide a distraction free environment. Coupled up with her magic hands and knowledge. She would have no competition!
I would rebook with Ellen because I felt instant relief after my massage was done and she cared enough to discuss what I can do to continue improving my symptoms.
Just my personal experience. I guess this is what turning 30 is, I now write...
Read moreI had a session booked from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. I reached by 8:40 pm. They gave a ipad to fill some forms. I filed it by 8:50 and was waiting for a therapist. The therapist came to me at 9:04 pm and took me to room. I then had a consultation for a couple of minutes. She left the room and I got undressed. She came by 9:08 pm and started the massage. I specifically requested for lower back but she was doing it more on my middle back. My shoulders were never massaged. My hands were never massaged. Neck was never massaged. Feet was never massaged.A quick 3 minutes in each of these areas would have been wonderful. She kept rubbing by middle back when I didn't want her to do there too much wasting time. I had more pain in my left leg but she did more massage in my right leg. She left the room by 9:56 pm. Overall, I lost 8 minutes of massage and entire session including consult was from 9:04 pm to 9:08 pm. The worst part is that therapist had cold and was kind of sick. Though I feel pity on her and she massaged me in spite of being sick, I don't want to catch the cold from her. The reason for 2 stars is because the pressure applied was perfect but unfortunately not in the right areas. I got more stressed after the massage because I was given 8 minutes short including the consultation and many of my areas like shoulders, hands, neck, feet were not even touched, I felt bad for wasting money. Session started only from 9:04 pm to 9:56 pm. I wasn't even given water after a massage. I didn't feel like tipping but tipped her just because she was massaging me in spite of not...
Read moreI didn't enjoy my visit from start to finish. There is no relaxation room like other spa places. So before waiting for my service I was seated next to another guest who had their phone on volume 60000 even though there's signs asking you to silence your phone. On top of that the staff were having very loud personal conversations in another room across the lobby and I felt so uncomfortable... Including one girl who was excited for her grandma to die soon so she could get an inheritance.. not exactly the kind of conversation I want to hear before having a relaxing message. So I was already not in the mood anymore to have a massage, I wish I left. I declined any additional services to enhance my massage and I felt my therapist was a bit combative when I said no several times. I genuinely didn't want the service and he seemed flustered and tried to argue why they were still a good choice. He also yawned and sighed so much during my appt, I felt like i was a bother to be there. I really wanted to leave half way thru but didn't know how to be like can I go now? Overall the massage was okay, a bit too much pressure at points but I let him know and he adjusted, but I just felt bothersome. I won't be back.. I also paid $188 for a 90 minute massage I feel so foolish for spending so much... With tip and tax I paid over $250 for 90 mins...
