My husband and I were very excited to visit the Museum of Sex last night for an early Valentine’s Day celebration, especially after seeing so many great reviews. As newlyweds, we were looking forward to a unique and memorable experience, so we purchased premium evening tickets for 8 PM, specifically because the museum’s website stated that the Merlandia live mermaid show would be running from 7-10 PM.
Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. When we arrived, no staff informed us of a schedule or when the shows would take place. Assuming we had time to explore, we started with the Modern Sex exhibit, which we found fascinating. However, around 8:30-8:45 PM, a supervisor named Laritza abruptly told us the exhibit was closing and that we only had 30 minutes left to see the rest of the museum. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional, making us feel rushed and unwelcome.
We had to speed through the Desire Machines exhibit, and by the time we reached Superfunland—around 9 PM—the mermaid show had already ended. When we asked an attendant about the closing time, we were told it was around 9:30 PM, contradicting the 10 PM closing time advertised on the website. We tried to make the most of our visit and even sat down for a 4DX show, only to be told—after the doors had closed—that the film could not be played for us.
While we appreciated the unique exhibits and the helpful attendees at Superfunland and the gift shop, the overall experience was extremely disappointing due to poor communication and disorganization. Laritza’s behavior, in particular, made it clear that management lacks professionalism and customer care. We are not confrontational people, but this experience left us feeling frustrated and cheated out of what should have been a fun and special evening.
Sadly, despite the museum’s fascinating content, we would not return due to the disorganized closing process and the poor customer service...
Read moreAs a longtime patron of the Museum of Sex in New York for nearly 20 years, I was absolutely thrilled to see them open a Miami location. And let me tell you—it does not disappoint!
My wife and I visited on Valentine’s Day before heading to dinner in Wynwood, and the entire experience was phenomenal. The Miami location, nestled in Allapattah, is an easy Uber ride from anywhere in the city, making it super convenient.
From the moment we arrived, the energy was fantastic. Check-in was seamless, and the lovely staff made sure we had everything we needed. Our QR code ticket was printed at the front desk, which we used throughout the museum for an interactive experience.
I won’t spoil too much about the exhibits (because half the fun is being surprised!), but they are incredibly well-curated, classy, and thought-provoking. If you’re expecting some seedy 1980s Times Square-style setup—think again. The level of detail and curation is truly impressive, making this a fascinating, immersive, and playful experience.
One of the highlights was Funland, an area packed with interactive carnival-style rides and games—all with a cheeky, sex-positive twist. We laughed, played, and fully immersed ourselves in the experience.
Then came the mermaid show at 8 PM, which was absolutely mesmerizing. The stunning stage features a massive water tank where performers swim in beautiful, synchronized movements. It was hypnotic and unlike anything else in Miami.
And let’s not forget the bar—a gorgeous space with a playful, risqué cocktail menu. Do yourself a favor and order "The Facial"—delicious and on-theme!
Forget the Museum of Ice Cream (yawn). If you want an experience that is bold, artistic, and genuinely fun, this is the place to visit in Miami. You’ll definitely get your "bang" for your buck!
🔥 Must-visit. Don’t miss it. 🔥
Also, remember to drop by the gift shop and pick up a few bottles of the LOVE...

Dear Manager team
I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my recent visit to sex museum on 03/29/2025 My party of five and I spent over $200 at the bar and an additional $56 per person for the experience, expecting a fun and enjoyable time. Unfortunately, the behavior of one of your employees significantly diminished our experience.
The attendant at the Back to the Bomb attraction—a Caucasian woman with black hair and bangs, approximately 92 pounds—was extremely rude and dismissive from the beginning. She appeared visibly annoyed when we mentioned recording a video and provided poor customer service throughout our interaction.
Most concerning was during the final spin of the attraction. She failed to give us any warning about potential hazards, which resulted in me slipping off and injuring my finger and leg. Rather than showing concern or offering assistance, she laughed, walked off, and deliberately avoided us by hiding inside the adjacent sex shop. Her unprofessional and indifferent attitude was completely unacceptable.
Given the significant amount we spent at your establishment, we expected a far better experience. I hope you take this complaint seriously and address the behavior of this employee to ensure future guests do not have a similar experience. I would appreciate a response outlining how you plan to handle this...
