If you've never been there before you should go you will be amazed it's not just a lighthouse it has the local Indian history you will see artifacts from the area as well as a history of the first lady Lighthouse Keeper there at that Lighthouse back in the 1800s and you will learn about how difficult it was to be a Lighthouse Keeper in this very Lighthouse that is now a museum it's fascinating it's right in the park on the water in Michigan City you can't miss it it's great go there bring your kids just call first to make sure it's open because they have limited hours and I would say parking is available and free and then afterwards go to the Fish Camp restaurant next door and watch the boats go by you will love your experience but don't forget to give a contribution to the museum before you leave they need it to stay open happy...

My family and I visited the museum twice (vists were years apart) with the same experience. I don't understand the comments of the previous reviewer, other than poorly behaved children endangering the exhibits. Furthermore, I don't understand how a parent could allow their unaccompanied children to wander through a museum. The staff were super nice and provided us with additional information and answered our questions. I particularly enjoyed that each room had a button to push that provides you information on what is in the room. Need about 45 minutes to go through it. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and there were only 2 other couples. 1. It is not accessible. 2. Open Wednesday-Sunday 1-4 pm. 3. Donโt show up 30 minutes...
