My mom and I decided to try this place after a day of shopping at the outlet mall. It’s a cute little bar and grille. When we arrived, there was a short line, but no hostess in sight at first. We eventually saw her wiping down tables, so we understood the delay. There were three groups ahead of us, and she seated them before taking our name and number for the waitlist. While we waited with several other groups, a man walked in and was seated immediately. When we asked the hostess about it, she said he had been there earlier, even though he hadn’t. Others around us were also confused, as we were all on the waitlist and watching the same interactions unfold. After we addressed the issue with her, we were seated shortly after. Once seated, our experience improved significantly. Our server, Heather, was amazing, friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. The food was good as well. However, while we were eating, I noticed some concerning behavior. A few people from the bar tried to get tables, and I saw the hostess tell them there was a waitlist. But when one man offered her cash, she told him they could sit wherever they wanted. She noticed me watching and quickly walked back inside. I found this behavior extremely unprofessional, especially considering how many people were still waiting for a table. Overall, the food was great and the service from our waitress was excellent, but the hostess could use some improvement. As a former hostess myself, I understand how stressful the job can be, but there’s no excuse for rudeness or showing favoritism to guests who offer something extra.

On our way home on a summer day, we decided to stop at Bridges Waterside Grille for dinner. It was late afternoon on a Saturday and the restaurant was filling up. The few open tables were those without shade from the sun. We started our meal with an order of calamari as our appetizer. It was hot out of the fryer. The coating was nicely spiced and was light and not too greasy. The portion size was good. For our main dishes, my wife had the shrimp skewers with coleslaw. She ordered the shrimp with just garlic and butter rather than the Cajun spices. The shrimp were very good. I ordered the lake perch with French fries. The perch were battered and deep fried; they were OK, but I think perch is better when it is pan fried in butter. My only criticism is that I thought the coleslaw was too heavily seasoned with celery seed; IMO, a little lighter would be better. All in all, the dinner was good. We enjoy the setting – it was perfect for a summer afternoon as we sat on the deck. Adjacent to the restaurant is a swing railroad bridge on Trail Creek. While we were dining, we got to see the bridge close, an Amtrak train cross and the bridge open. There aren’t many restaurants where you can watch that while you’re dining.

Well a great Cafe at a great location. This is right next to a lagoon and the Midwest Amtrak railroad line. We were lucky to capture the railroad bridge to rotate and make way for tourist cruises and boats to pass by. The place was packed with people and it's recommended to have a reservation in advance. Or else the waiting is almost 20 to 40mins. We choose to sit under the sun so we were given a table right away. We ordered their famous Jamaican Coconut Fried Shirmp which was sweet and savory however, it was dripping with oil. We also ordered the Cajan Fried Fish Sandwich with Cut Fries and Bang Bang Sauce. And also a Thai Chicken Wrap with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich and the wrap tasted great, loved the portion size and the simplicity of the sandwich. Overall, you'll love the server as they are sweet and helpful for suggestions. All in all a bit expensive compared to the quality. But it's all about the ambience and waterside experience.

so ive been here a few times before the covid19 stuff happened and i had great experiences... this time was a little different.. me and my friend drove a hour away just to have a little getaway and eat / drink by the beach(mind you we are both bartenders / servers so we are extremely understanding and know restaurants)... we decided when we arrived to put our names in right away because it was a little colder than expected. So any wayy we put our name in they said it would be 30-45 min.. so we took a walk to the beach.. we come back around the time we were supposed to and the lady NEVER PUT US ON THE LIST.. (she was a little older blonde) ... so whatever we put our names on the list again mind you both times we requested the upper deck. So we waited about a hour and a half after a hour we were definitely getting a little impatient... so finally after my friend asks about 3-4 different times we get sat... not on the upper deck but we got a table on the inside lower floor. As we get sat the gentleman that sat us was a african American Male older manager he gives my friend a problem about her age (we are both 25) whatever we get it , after this we are told we are not allowed to order food ... WHAT?? After waiting almost 2 hours... so at this point we’re kinda mad we say were gonna order a drink and ask our server . Our servers name is Sarah she was pregnant and sooo delightful... at this time she tells us no one told her we couldnt order food so we put in a app & waited for our cocktails... then we notice a table in the corner with a view and requested that we could move considering we waited so long she said not a problem. We wait for the table to get clean and move.. so we move... at this point the same manager that sat us comes over and legitimately raises his voice telling us we had to move.. like so embarrassing... it was to the point allll the tables were looking at us and another table asked if he really just talked to us like that... so i say im not moving and he started dragging chairs and tables around making us feel super uncomfortable... whatever we continue on with our meal and sarah definitely made us feel better .. i just feel it was super unprofessional of that man & tbh hopefully he gets a talk over this comment . Not sure if ill be coming back here next time or checking out bridges.. this was my go to restaurant but like i said he was just so rude!!!! The food was great drinks were great and waitress was...

We decided to go to Bridges because dogs were allowed. That's about the only positive. It was waterside but the view was very industrial. Maybe that's to be expected, but it just wasn't as clean as I hoped. The food was pretty overpriced. My son got a chicken tender kids meal. It was $7.50, there were only 2 chicken fingers and the fries were kind of small, stringy and overcooked (very brown). The waitress asked us if we wanted dipping sauce but failed to mention it was $0.50 extra. Most places include dipping sauce with chicken nuggets/tenders, I feel they should have been upfront about the extra charge or just charged $8.00 on the menu and included the sauce. Either way, it was very overpriced. My kid was still hungry afterwards so we had to make a 2nd stop to get him more food. As far as the adult food, it was also overpriced. I ordered crab cakes and sweet potatoes fries and opted for their house dip for an upcharge. The sweet potato fries dip was so gross, it was supposed to be some kind of cinnamon, usually I like cinnamon, however this sauce had clearly been sitting in the fridge a long time. It had separated and was a thick white paste on the bottom with a clear drippy liquid over the top. I think it was rancid, I couldn't eat it. The crab cakes were ok, they were deep fried. I ordered salsa to go with the crab cakes, which I recommend, without the salsa they were dry and flavorless, with the salsa was much better. My partner ordered a burger, he said it was greasey and had clearly been a frozen Sam's club patty. I think if you have low expectations and don't mind paying $55 for a family of 3 then you'll...
