Wonderful local art museum with ties to the Chicago History Museum and other art organizations of note. The staff is simply extraordinary, friendly, and welcoming, and the Lubeznik offers a space of beauty, learning, and culture that is non-existent and second to none in the NW Indiana region. Don't miss their art festival in the summer, poetry slams and open mic nights that give a space for local artists and those aspiring to become artists to showcase their talent, and fascinating ongoing exhibitions. The Lubeznik Center for the Arts is a true gem in the region and is not to be missed!

We went in on a rainy day. Really the only people in there but fine by us. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. We loved the current exhibit. Also liked the downstairs area showcasing the local kids’ art projects. Great community art center!

Bold art, highlighting local artists but bringing in new creatives from afar too. Opening night never disappoints bc there's an engaging crowd. Love the museum shop- always something to make you smile or think. Fantastic art classes and camps. Local treasure.

The Lubeznik Center for the Arts is an essential stop for anyone attending the Uptown Arts District's First Fridays event. This inviting museum offers an intimate setting to appreciate art, with a dynamic selection of exhibits that showcase the talents of local artists.

As you meander through the galleries, you're not just a passive observer—you're a potential collector. The downstairs displays are thoughtfully arranged to not only engage your senses but also to tempt you with the possibility of taking a piece of the experience home with you. This direct support of the arts enriches both the local creative community and the lives of those who choose to become patrons.

The gift shop complements the artistic journey, providing a curated selection of unique crafts. These items, often handcrafted and one-of-a-kind, make for perfect mementos or gifts that carry the creative spirit of the region with them.

The main galleries are a testament to the careful curation that goes into each exhibit. With a diversity of art forms on display, there's a continual sense of discovery and newness with each visit. Whether your taste leans towards the traditional, the avant-garde, or somewhere in-between, there will be something that catches your eye and holds your interest.

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of the Lubeznik Center for the Arts is its accessibility. The gallery opens its doors to the public free of charge, embodying the belief that art should be available to all, regardless of economic barriers. This commitment to free admission ensures that everyone can partake in these cultural offerings and contributes to the vibrant community spirit that First Fridays...

Artistic exploration often leads to a deeper understanding of oneself and the world.

The following are a few examples of the numerous benefits that First Friday's and the art/events they offer provide to the mind: Creativity and self-expression, Emotional expression and catharsis, Stress relief and relaxation, Cognitive stimulation, Perspective and empathy, Inspiration, Personal growth and self-discovery.

The impact of art can vary from person to person, as art is a deeply personal and...
