A Slice Of Heaven — Restaurant in Michigan City

An absolute gem of a spot. Stopped by on the way back to Illinois, having decided to skip the more upscale choices in Michigan City. A decision that both myself and my traveling companion regard as an excellent choice. The dude serving up the dogs was ultra cool and the food was fantastic. I got the Carolina and Chicago style, she got the Italian sausage. All 3 items were top tier. I'm the first to piss and moan (but never to a restaurant) when someone advertises a Chicago style and there is even one component either missing or incorrect (especially the neon green Vienna Beef relish), but this place has it 100% correct. They even grill up your peppers and onions on the spot, on the little gas range in the trailer.

Love these old school, mom and pop hot dog stands. They could use a coat of paint, but I'm telling you the Polish. And Chicago style are freaking amazing. They are a must try if you're in Michigan City, checking out lighthouse mall or going to the beach you gotta stop by. It's about 2 blocks East of the giant smokestack.
