I have been here a few times now. Always a pleasant experience! I was initially very excited to check out Monmouth Cards in Midland Park. I am a collector, and I truly wanted to chat with a collector expert about some older Pokémon cards and what I should do with the collection that I have.
I called ahead of time to make sure they knew I was going to bring some Pokemon cards into the shop. Once I got there, I was very grateful that Aemon and Jake were able to help me understand what to look for especially considering that these cards are very important to me. Aemon is a wealth of knowledge especially with Pokemon TCG. They both took the time to go through everything with honesty and enthusiasm, plus they made sure to show me things that I probably wouldnât notice if I did not bring these into the store. 10/10 would recommend to go to this location because they respected my time and acknowledged giving a thorough look through the cards I had. I felt very comfortable with the information that they shared to bring to my attention as a collector. It was fun to chat with them about the cards as well!
Lastly, I was able to pick up the new box set for the Pokemon Mega Evolutions the day after the series launched. I was lucky enough to get a really cool card, and was very excited to share the good news to the staff! Thank you Monmouth Cards for being patient with me, my collection, and always giving such a rad in-store experience! Iâll be back to buy again for the next Pokemon series launch...
Read moreAbsolutely love this store, its so spacious, well kept, and welcoming just like the staff. Every time I've shopped and sold cards to them they've always worked with me to get me the best deals on anything i brought in. They primarily sell sports cards, pokemon, a small area for Magic The Gathering, and a sprinkle of Lorcana, One Piece, and other smaller card games like Star Wars They have an entire left side wall of the store dedicated to graded cards for sports, pokemon, one piece, and others(primarily sports and Pokemon). When it comes to prices they're fair considering its a store front with overhead like rent, employee payroll, and costs to keep the lights on. Pokémon isnt MSRP but the only place youll ever find it for MSRP is at places like target or gamestop where you have to wait in line all night for a pack of cards. Id highly suggest just checking the store put at the very least and looking around if you're in the area!! 5/5...
Read moreSomething felt fishy about this place after I purchased a $450 pack of 1999 base set Pokemon cards that were advertised as HEAVY. Only to get nothing in the pack. Then have the person who sold me the pack look me in the eyes and say âthatâs just the way it goes sometimesâ Talk about an absolute scam and rip off. This has happened to me one other time at a normal mom and pop shop and the owner instantly refunded my money and apologized for advertising heavy packs with no pulls. What makes this truly worse is, I talked to a second worker who said someone else also purchased a similar back two weeks prior and didnât pull...
