My husband and I visited the Midland Area Farmers Market this morning. We arrived before 7:30am, and were able to find a nice parking place. Parking is free and plentiful, but this is the weekend of the county fair AND the Gus Mack Tournament, so downtown Midland was a challenge to navigate (because of the Gus Mack). On to the Farmers Market! My husband usually rides his bike to the market every market and visits his favorite vendors. But because I wanted to check things out this summer, we drove. Dang it, I should have taken pics of them, but I'm such a newb :-/ Anyways, I highly recommend a visit to Sam Bright, "The Granola Guy." We eat his homemade granola. I add a tablespoon to my Light 'n Fit Yogurt, and it is sooo good. All of the flavors are delicious, but I have a weakness for his Peanut Butter Granola. Other flavors include Dark Cocoa, Honey, Blueberry, and more. He also sells snap peas, sugar peas, snow peas, and string beans. Other vendors offer grass-fed beef, heirloom apples, cherry tomatoes, baked goods, organic vegetables, cut flowers, coffee, kale and lettuce, and the largest cauliflowers I've ever seen. There were many more things there, and I can't remember them all. If you have the opportunity, you should visit. This is a true farmers market, unlike some that I've seen in large cities. The Farmers Market also has Wednesday morning hours, and is open thru October, I believe. Before I forget, there are also food trucks. I didn't really check them out, but I did notice that one of them sold pigs in blankets that were sausages wrapped...

Read moreThe market staff is always super friendly and chill. There are many wonderful farms to get fresh produce from and several great food options! One vender sells the largest cauliflower I've ever seen for only $4!
Almost forgot to mention the live music! Each week there is a talented performer either jamming on the guitar or slaying the ivory keys for your entertainment. Always keeps the atmosphere lightheaded and fun for the family
Definitely worth coming out both on Wednesday mornings, and probably Saturday too! Grab a balloon flower is a souvenir...
