If I was lying on my death bed and could only give one piece of advice with my final breath it would be to not join this gym. When I signed up I made sure that I would be able to cancel anytime. After a terrible experience at a different gym I made sure I could cancel anytime with no problems. Surprisingly this isn't the case! After my first attempt to cancel my membership while at the gym at my after work workout I was told that there is only one employee in the entire gym who can actually cancel memberships. The only thing more ridiculous than only having one employee that can do that is the schedule of said employee, they only work 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Now if that sounds familiar to you thats because that is when every normal person in the world is also at work. So I guess when they meant I could cancel anytime what they actually wanted was for me to take time off of my job to go to the gym to ask in person for them to cancel my membership. But alas there was another option I could go online, find the cancellation form, fill out the form and then mail the form into corporate. Now I know what you are thinking that sounds like a long process, well its not they only need to review the form for a few weeks to make sure they can actually cancel. I mean are their computers still using dial up so it takes weeks to actually get on and cancel my membership from the corporate offices? I ended up being able to get a phone call with customer service where someone was told that they would be able to cancel my membership but then not only was it not cancelled I got another phone call from the actual gym saying it wouldnt be cancelled and if I didnt pay they would take me to collections. My card had gotten stolen and switched so they no longer had billing info and instead of canceling it like customer service said they just threatened me with collections coming after me! I know I gave this one star but if your looking for a very average gym that wants to act like its run by the mob the will force you to give over every penny you have before letting you leave then it might actually be the right gym for you. Also its never...
Read moreI joined the PRT program hoping to improve my overall strength, particularly my core at the Mill Creek LA Fitness. I have found it to be an effective program, and an outstanding instructor, Dharma, who has truly made a difference in my fitness journey.
The semi-private setting of PRT provides a balance between personalized attention and the energy of a small group. I love that the 50-minute sessions are divided into targeted 10-minute segments, ensuring we cover everything from stretching and power training to strength work and cardio. The dedicated equipment is always in excellent condition!
But what truly elevates PRT is the instructor, Dharma. From day one, Dharma has fostered a motivating and supportive atmosphere. As someone new to this style of training, I felt completely comfortable asking questions, and Dharma always took the time to explain things clearly and thoroughly. Dharma is incredibly observant, providing personalized feedback and modifications to ensure everyone maintains proper form and maximizes results. He knew when to challenge me with a difficult version of the exercise and when to offer a regression to ensure I was performing the exercise safely and effectively. Form is the key!
This individualized approach, combined with Dharma's infectious enthusiasm, has helped me achieve incredible results. In a matter of few months, I've already doubled the weight I can push using a sled during my cardio sessions!
Beyond the physical training, Dharma has also offered invaluable guidance on nutrition. He took the time to understand my dietary restrictions and provided practical recommendations that fit my lifestyle. I really appreciate this holistic approach.
If you're looking for a challenging yet supportive training program with an exceptional instructor, I wholeheartedly recommend PRT...
Read moreOnly nice thing about this place is the sauna. Would not pay 40$ a month + an initiation + annual fee to go here. Also the people that work here have car salesman energy. I came in looking to check out the gym and they forced me to take a tour. Kind of annoying since I just wanted to quickly look at the machines they offered and move on with my day. But I just thought whatever and did it and the salesperson kept asking me all these irrelevant questions about my workout routine and tried to push the personal training onto me (seems really scammy btw). Seriously I’m not Micheal Phelps I just wanted to look at the machines. After the “tour” they sat me down out their sales desk and tried to pressure me into a contract. I told them before the tour I would be moving in the area next month before the tour even started and I didn’t need the membership right now. The sales person tried to tell me I could start my membership then and there and then “freeze” my membership until next month. Like that even makes sense ??? I was super uncomfortable. After I left I checked and they charge a fee to freeze the membership (is this a joke). On top of that they try to trick you into signing a contract by “waiving” the initiation fee but then bumping the monthly price so they make the same amount but you’re not saving any money. They think people were born yesterday. Would rather sell my soul to the devil than sign any type of contract with these people.
EDIT: had to come back and revise my rating because since I gave them my personal information they have been contacting me nonstop. No one cares about your free workout passes. These people have crazy stalker tendencies and just want your money. I DEEPLY regret giving them my personal information but I’m so glad I walked out and didn’t sign anything. Feel like I...
