Yesterday was my second time booking Urban air at Milltown for my kids birthday event. My first time experience was great from start to finish. However, I cannot say the same for yesterday's party. From the beginning, the greeters at the front door was a bit confused and not really ready for incoming party guest. I believe the manager did not prepped them properly to greet and direct people with parties. Once I met my host, Sofia, the dynamic of my experienced changed for the better. She was AMAZING and HARDWORKING! I arrived two-minutes late but she took charge of my kids birthday party and had over half of the guest list settled in. She checked them in and the kids quickly went to play. She ensured that we all maximized our timeline, which as a Marine, I really appreciated. An example is that Sofia made it her duty to discuss with me the minute by minute timeline she made and tailored it to my children's party. Sofia is ADAPTABLE, RESPECTFUL, COURTEOUS, AND PLEASANT! She deserves a promotion, raise, or praise for being a great employee.
As the party was ending, I had to close out at the cash register. I'm in the Marine Corps and I had asked Sofia for the military discount. I remember from the my first birthday event at Urban Air in Milltown (1609) the manager gave me 10% off the entire bill.
She needed to find the manager to assist her with that and I noticed it was difficult to get his attention. As she asked him for help, I immediately noticed his demeanor of being annoyed and laziness. He snatched the clipboard and walked away from her. He made it to the cash registered and looked at me and waved the clipboard at me. He signaled me to come see him but in an unprofessional manner. Throughout the check out process he was rude and disrespectful. Furthermore, I noticed that he did not discounted the entire bill of 10% but only a portion and I told him that last time the entire bill was discounted. He only emphasized that it was not the entire bill and that this is how things are now. He was rude and not understanding on the situation. I felt uncomfortable throughout the whole check out process. Even singing for receipts was unpleasant. He was disturbed when I left a tip to the Sofia, the host, as if I was not leaving enough. He did not have a poker face and anyone could clearly see that. At the end, I left and really was disappointed that Urban Air has him as a manager. From what I experienced, he does not deserve that position as that is a position that is crucial to the success of the organization. Before I left, Sofia approached me to apologize for his behavior and I was very thankful for that.
Please look into this. I will not be writing this if I do not believe that the manager needs to be sat down and talked too about this behavior as I heard it is not the first. His name is Mario and he wore blue shirt.
I will be free or actively respondent if you'd like to talk to me further about this...
Read moreVery unhealthy environment! Not a good place for party, I wish I could give no stars. Only if you want to pay fortune and have to do everything by yourself. Basic things like bringing utensils and dishes and not get enough food, you can go ahead And conduct a party there. Details::
It gets 5 stars for being the best indoor adventure park in the area. It's not perfect, but I can't really dock it any points when they exceed the competition. The variety of activities, and especially the playground section, puts it at the top of my son's to-do list on days off.
There's an excellent discount for children 5 and under, which is the first thing that I love, because my son is 4 but has a blast here even playing with the older kids. He isn't relegated to a toddler time; he can enter the park just like the other kids, but for cheaper.
They are also pretty fair about how long you have to be in the park. Other places I went to did it by hour on the dot, you'd pay for like 1-2PM or something. This place just gives you a colored wristband and they will call your color to leave after a generous amount of time; I never feel like I got ripped off or made to leave early. They aren't in a big rush to kick you out, which is why I have gone back a dozen times.
The staff is mostly teenagers, but they have usually been nice even if they are not necessarily always 100% attentive or communicative. I don't really think they could do a lot better with the staff given the type of work and business this is. Of the dozens of staff I've seen, there was only one time that someone rubbed me the wrong way.
My biggest complaint is that there isn't enough seating in the front areas. They try to get you to pay money for massage chairs which take up a huge area, but people abuse them and just sit in them without paying, setting off an annoying alarm that staff seem to ignore; it drives me crazy sometimes. I wish they would get rid of the massage chairs and just put in normal seating, or keep them and disable the alarm. While I do think maybe the staff could do better at getting people to not abuse the premium seating, I totally understand that you don't want to piss off your customers over something like this. Ultimately I think management should be the ones to change how that all works.
Also, they never opened up one of the attractions where you are hooked up to a zip line thing and walk along balance beams attached to the ceiling. I don't know why it's not open, but it should have been, especially in the summer when it was busy.
These complaints are pretty minor, and I will continue to go back here, and hope to see this...
