The Zio — Restaurant in Milltown

The Zio in Milltown, NJ is hands-down one of the best spots in the area for bubble tea and desserts. The drinks are consistently fresh and flavorful, with a great range of options from classic milk teas to fruity brewed teas and creative specialties. Their brown sugar milk tea with sea salt foam is a must-try, and the croffles—especially the Nutella one—are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. The space itself is bright, clean, and welcoming, with plenty of seating and a cozy vibe that makes it easy to relax or catch up with friends. I’ve been enjoying this cafe in Edision and the product is still excellent, but ever since they opened new shops on other locations, customer service and staff training have noticeably declined, which is unfortunate.

As someone who recently came from Korea, I can say their bingsoo is truly authentic—on par with what you’d find back home.

Unfortunately, the Edison branch no longer serves bingsoo, so I had to drive nearly 50 minutes to the Milltown location with my family.

I even called ahead and confirmed directly with the owner that they were serving bingsoo. However, when we arrived, the staff told us they didn’t know how to make it and didn’t even try.

The desserts here still taste great, but my trust in their customer service and staff training has dropped significantly. Unless I happen to be nearby, I don’t think I’ll be making...

I've been eyeing this boba shop near Target for ages, and finally decided to give it a shot. The interior was clean and inviting, with plenty of seating options. Ordering was a breeze, with both a traditional counter and self-service touchscreens available.

I opted for a large original milk tea with tapioca pearls and a Nutella croffle. The milk tea was perfectly balanced, not too strong and not too sweet, even with the regular sugar level. The tapioca pearls were chewy and delightful. The Nutella croffle was a decadent treat, with a generous amount of Nutella and a delightful crunch on the outside.
