I have made a lot of progress with my fitness goals this year and they were very helpful suspending my membership while I was out of the country.
However, for the price range it is in it offers considerably less than WAC and other competitors. It's also geared more toward cardio and senior citizens, which is fine, but if you have a more weights/functionality based workout and you get there at busier times you're essential stuck.
There's also an issue with several people being completely oblivious to those around them. Personal trainers occasionally take up more room than they need to (e.g. Both benches and the rower to show someone how to squat??? Come on), which can also kill workouts. At night, if I miss my morning workouts, I dread certain members of the gym showing up because they have no problem walking over you mid set or even stepping in front of you while you're on the (woefully positioned) heavy bag to give you unsolicited advice on punching technique.
All of this is manageable to a certain degree, but for $50 a month, knowing the infinitely superior Brickyard is just down the road for half the price, it's just starting to feel like it's not worth it. Again, if you can get in there when it's empty or you're only contending with treadmill users, it's fine, but all things considered, I'll probably be taking my sick pump elsewhere in the...
Read moreBeen a long time member of snapfitness, about 1 month ago, my access card stopped working. I reached out and they explained that since I was a member through my insurance, I needed to sign some documents that they admitted should have been signed when I joined the gym. Well, I went ahead and signed those documents and they have confirmed that they were recieved and that my card should work again. Following this conversation, I was away for a few weeks, and when I returned to the state, I trtied to enter the gym...Well, my card still does not work.....This is extremely frustrating, communicaiton is extremely poor on their end. Instead of deactivating my card the first time, without warning, they could have said "hey, these documents need to be signed to use the gym". That wasn't done. Now it is proving to be difficult to get access back despite continuing to pay for a membership. And multuiple times I have had to turn around and return home. ...
Read moreFrom all the gyms I've been to, Snap Fitness is by far my favorite place to go (I've been a member at Planet Fitness, Blast Fitness, and Bally's when it was still around; I have done trials at Xperience Fitness and Anytime Fitness).
Snap Fitness in Bay View is clean/tidy, tends not to be too crowded, is open 24/7 including holidays, has a pretty fast turn around on fixing broken equipment, and has a team of friendly staff members.
Though it costs a bit more than your average "$20/mo bring a guest" membership to many of these larger gyms, it's definitely worth it, especially if you despise huge & dirty locker rooms, equipment that stays broken for weeks/months, never finding an open spot on a piece of equipment you want to use, and members that can be beyond the definition of gross.
Thanks for going above and beyond Snap Fitness staff at the BV location; it's much...
