Enchante — Attraction in Milwaukie

Five stars, always. That it is listed by Google as a "popcorn store" is a severe misnomer, and I think that ought to be changed. House-made caramel corn and cheese corn are only two of the hundreds of the items this little wonderland carries. But understand that this IS a chocolate shop, and a quality one. You will know this the instant you open the door and that wonderful smell from inside hits you. I doubt there are many places on earth that smell that close to heaven. This place is any child's fantasy, though I don't think I'm mistaken when I say that it is geared toward the adult. It is Paris-themed, and definitely feels like you have stepped into a sweets shop in Europe. If you're looking for a gift, this is the place to go. If you're looking for a little something for yourself, it's still the place to go! I can't contain my excitement as I get out of my car to go inside. This store used to be called "Candyland" and was located down the street from its current location for more years than I've probably been alive...and I'm 51. On the days they were cooking caramel corn, the whole town of Milwaukie smelled incredible. I mean incredible. Like floating-in-the-air-like-Fred-Flinstone-toward-the-aroma incredible. I've eaten more bags of that stuff than I could ever count...and the cheese corn is just as good! Go to this adorable little store, and you'll have to go back again and again. You won't be able to...

Enchanté. True to its name. Staffed by wonderous persons and I'm sure a chocolate wizard or two that will leave you (or whom you gift to) delighted and spellbound.

A brief detour off a major artery makes it easily to reach during a commute.

It was during one such commute that I stopped in.

Entering the store you are met with a cute decor and an abundant selection of chocolates and treats.

I was looking for something that I could use to bewilder my love and surprise her with a token of affection. And I found it!

At the end of our transaction they thanked me. I confessed a small amount of guilt since I was going to take credit for their work and make myself out to be the hero of this current story. And I did.

The interior is very cute and well decorated. I tried some salted caramel chocolate covered popcorn or kettle corn that was really good, but my husband is not a big fan of anything salted caramel so I opted for some other goodies. You have to spend at least $10 if you want to use a card. So instead of putting stuff back I bought a $4 truffle in addition to my other selection. I used to work at a chocolate store where we made our truffles by hand and, being from Germany, have had my fair share of really good chocolate. This $4 truffle left much to be desired, it didnt even taste very fresh, the outside was very hard and the inside not very creamy. Their other stuff may be goo, but you may want to opt away from these...
