Dorcheat Historical Museum — Attraction in Minden

A welcome surprise to be sure, when exploring the history of northwest Louisiana. I regret that I didn't have more time to spend there, but certainly would have. Beautiful exhibits that chronicle the history of Minden, Webster Parish, and NW Louisiana. My only complaint is the lack of restrooms. There were no functioning restrooms, forcing my party to go to the nearest convenience store.

The staff member on site was very friendly and gave explanations of various panels and exhibits inside. Clean and organized, with a small research library on hand. Will likely return...

Out for a weekend drive checking out the town of Minden put unfortunate this museum decide to stay close on the weekend. It sure hurt your town tourism dollar when nothing is open on the weekend for the working people who like to take a weekend road trip. Please stay open on Saturday at least for everyone who works...
