Great fun for both my wife and me!

It reaffirmed Minden’s distinction as the “Friendliest City of the South” as designated by Travel & Leisure magazine.

We started the afternoon at Brick Street Coffee, a favorite. Caramel Macchiatos provided an afternoon of energy for the Festival. Real mead (very good, honey-enhanced) came later.

Inside at the Festival, a potter, Scottish dancers, and a harpist entertained. The outside stage in a beautiful sloping downtown park featured Scottish-themed music, like a talented mandolin and guitar group from Monroe. Plus, a contest of men in kilts (there were a surprisingly large! number attending the Festival) for “best knees” was judged by a blindfolded, dragooned-but-smiling volunteer who deserved the “best sport of...

The Scottish Tartan Festival in Minden, Louisiana. We drove up for the day and browsed the booths as well as took in some of the shows and exhibits. Great performers, friendly people and no problems. The weather was a bit cool in the morning but then warmed up. There were some crowds but everyone appeared to have had a good time. Unfortunately we missed it...

Had a freaking blast! Can't wIt for next year. Definitely going . They had multiple stages playing music, people dancing,kids running all around playing,adults talking with each other. different walks of life coming together having fun. Lots to eat and drink,and wears. Even had a village fool spouting about the atrocities of the kingdom. ...
