I’ve been meaning to leave this review… I’m not someone who gets my nails done due to my job. I only do on special occasions (I wish I could get my nails done consistently but I can’t). I had acrylics done out of state and when i needed to take them off (since it’s been a few weeks), I had asked if this location has a proper process to take off acrylics. I chose this location because it was closer to me at the time. Anyway, I was told yes and to walk-in, that I didn’t need to make an appointment. Again, mind you, I don’t normally get my nails done so I know nothing about nails (besides your basic nail polish you can buy and paint yourself). But, I did research beforehand that the proper way to take off acrylics is to soak them in acetone. I don’t normally do nails or have nail products and didn’t want to buy acetone; plus, I don’t mind supporting businesses for their labor.
When I got there, I didn’t get the acetone bath I thought was the appropriate process to take off acrylics. The nail technician simply dug under the acrylic nail with a nail clipper and ripped it off. It hurt. I was in shock and didn’t know how to react because having taken off acrylic for the first time, I wasn’t sure if this was a new process, a first step… I know I didn’t know better and it’s on my part to have advocated for myself.
The nail technician also seemed like she was in a rush too because she already had another client, but the client was getting their nails set under what looked like the UV light machine, so the nail technician quickly came over to me and ripped off all the acrylic nails. It was a painful process and I’m mad at myself for not having said anything.
But I want to hold this place accountable for not educating people like me who are new to nails. It is one thing to research online yourself and get your own answers there, and it’s also okay to get direct answers from people in the industry who also should know better. I told her specifically it was my first time getting acrylics done and wanted to get it off appropriately, but instead of taking the time to educate me, offer me different approaches or tips at home, or simply just guiding me in the right direction, the nail technician seemed like she was more focused on getting as much client in...
Read moreSo like most smart people I read the reviews before making the long drive to south Mpls I called two hours to make an appointment Lady on the phone was pleasant. When I arrived the same lady greeted me. I remember her voice. BUT the actual tech was RUDE!! I have extremely sensitive feet. So I told her and instead of taking that into consideration she was rough. Like I had made her mad or something. Mind you I greeted her with hi how are you. She ignored me. When she asked me gel or polish is where everything went to hell. She become angry and with the biggest attitude she told me that she was going to charge me more for polish! WTH??? I asked her wait! What? She look at me dead in my eyes and said yea. Did you not read the sign?! I answered I didn’t see that on there. By now I’m upset and I told her never mind. She then was trying to take back her funky attitude and what she said. I told her straight out that her customer service SUCKS! “ you’re not doing me a FREE service!” This is your job! If you don’t want to service me I’m sure I can find another place that will happily do so. By now the manager is next to me asking me what’s wrong so I told her and she gave her a look. And right there they stared talking about me in their language. I flat out said excuse me that’s rude. The manger said your right sorry but the other one didn’t stop. I’m almost 100% sure she was cursing me out in her language just by the way it sounded. I definitely DO NOT...
