2025.09.29 I am not posting enough reviews for Max & Sandy. I am there pretty much every weekend for a simple reason, Sandy & Max, create great food. Soups, sweet scones, Swiss cake rolls, brioche rolls, and more. Tonight we had the potato, broccoli and cheese soup. I added some sausage links and a little rotisserie chicken. Best soup ever. Wonderful broccoli flavor and a balanced soup flavor. Had it with some good sour dough bread. Sandy, please make it again soon!

Hey Rainbow Goldberg, you may want to take a look at the rest of the reviews you see here and on yelp.com. I live in this 'grubby part of town', I call this home. Don't come back, you are not wanted here.

Thanks Sandy & Max, for some great treats today! I'm having to stock up on your goods as you are now selling out by 11:30 am????

Sandy, you make it really hard to spend the time to make chicken noodle soup when you are just down the street. And yours is so good.

Thank you both, Sandy and Max for really, really good...

My favorite bakery! Not only do I love it because of their amazing creations-- savory brioche, cheese and beef rolls, cakes to die for, muffins, scones, and bundt cakes, to name just a few-- but I also love Savory for what they bring to the neighborhood: a sense of community. Sandra and Max get to know their customers, raise funds for local causes and are our neighbors.Thank you for all that you do!

On that note, this place is popular so make sure you get there early-- they usually sell out before noon.

Savory is also seasonal, taking a break from approximately the beginning of June and opening back up the beginning of September.

Oh and P.S. if you follow them on Instagram they post the menu the night before. A really welcome addition when one is deciding whether to head...

NO Walk-Up Retail Sales: I have tried several times to visit and try some of the beautiful pastries posted online from the bakery. My prior attempts came up empty because I arrived late in the day. I now work in the neighborhood and was excited to give it a try early in the day. Sadly this business no longer offers retail walk up sales, they only support online orders. That doesn't work when I haven't seen the options to understand what looks good or filling. That puts me in the same category as the unbanked, people without smart phones, and others who have a situation or schedule that requires last minute walk up service. I understand the ease of online sales and reduction of food waste when sales are planned and paid for in advance. Still disappointing for many in...

This is without a doubt a top 3 bakery in the cities right now. This place is beyond anything that you could dream of for your local bakery. Everything is HYPER seasonal and absolutely amazing. Don’t expect to see much the same from week to week, as they clearly prioritize freshness, and seasonality. When you show up, come hungry. This isn’t the place to stop by for a snack. Get a lot and be full for the next 4 hours. My recommendation to anyone going would be to get a polish roll, something from the cold case, and something else. Anything you choose will be a home run. Yes, there is a line that you will have to wait in… but the neighborhood is friendly. Bring your coffee and make some friends as you wait. I promise that it’s worth it.

It is truly such an amazing thing to have this place be in our neighborhood. It has become one of the highlights of our weekends to stop over and get some treats. The pot pies, soups and sandwiches as well as stuffed rolls are all amazing if sweet isn't your thing! I cannot recommend this place enough. If you haven't been before, make this a priority stop and fill up on their delicious menu.
