Im making this review shortly after leaving this establishment due to an altercation between two players (7:30 p.m.,1/11/2018) where one of the players thought it would be a good idea to go slap the other one.
I am truly disappointed and DISGUSTED about the way it was handled by the staff and wont be returning because of it ! After the staff watched as the taller light-skinned gentleman B-line it ALL the way around the table and slap the guy with a hat on he proceed to tell the light skinned gentlemen to "Calm Down" while the other gentlemen with the hat on is sitting there stunned on the verge of tears !
It was only AFTER the tall light-skinned guy showed signs of calming down did the Staff member asked him to leave (This whole time the tall light-skinned guy is patronizing and telling the guy with the hat to step outside when it was clear he had no will to fight) smh The worst part about this whole thing is what he said to him about leaving ! "You have to leave man, you can comeback but you have to leave"
What the hell ?! How is he not banned from the store ?! You are actually telling the guy he can comeback after SLAPPING another customer in the face ?! UNACCEPTABLE !
The tall light-skinned guy did not leave right away mind you and it didn't seem like the staff was in any rush to get him out of there either smh He was still there a good 4 or 5 mins packing his stuff up meanwhile still patronizing the guy with the hat (Who is crying mind you !)
When he finally does leave the staff member thought it would be a good idea to gossip about it to other customers while laughing ! (Caucasian gentelmen with gages in his ears and a tatoo on his forearm)
I've only been to this establishment maybe 3 or 4 times and every time I've come the tall light-skinned gentlemen is always there which tells me hes a regular. I would not recommend this spot to anyone looking to game and bring kids here to play is a no go ! (There was minors around when...
Read moreThis place scalps their own Pokemon cards. When game stores double the msrp of boosters it is the final nail in the coffin of this culture. I grew up playing MTG from unlimited/revise editions on. It was a big part of my childhood. My son now has an interest in Pokemon. Unfortunately he is having a horrible time bc the culture is being sold out by the very people who are supposed to be holding the standards. When game stores essentially scalp their own products it says loud and clear “we do not care about you or this culture. All we want is a quick money grab.” They give a co-sign the bs resale market at the expense of the true fans. Shame on dreamers vault for being so corny. If anyone else feels the same way please give these people more one stars.
I’m response:
The packs aren’t worth what you’re selling them for. The supposed value is highly speculative. It’s not a supply and demand issue. It’s predatory people buying up the cards and creating false scarcity and pokebros who create social medial content that situates the game as a commodity market instead of a game for kids. You give this a co-sign when you start selling for scalper prices yourself. Shame on you. You don’t care about your customers, you don’t care about the kids playing this game, you don’t care about the culture. Please do not support this business! Look at their corny...
Read moreDreamers Vault has a good selection of board games, collectible card games, miniatures, paints and painting supplies for miniatures, and dice. They also have fun gaming extras like RPG gaming-themed soy candles, including a bright pink "Love Potion" one, and a sedate cream colored candle that smells of leather and parchment, as one might imagine a magician's library would.
The Vault has several large tables with space to play games and basic snacks and beverages for sale when adventuring or building bunny empires sparks an appetite for chips and soda.
Every interaction I have had with staff has been a pleasant experience. Staff at gaming stores that offer gaming space can sometimes be gruff and unapproachable; one can come away with a sense that if you need to ask (anything), you don't belong there. The staff members at Dreamers Vault are friendly and engaging.
Bonus points for being right across Hiawatha from a train stop, so my kid can get to the shop from the U of MN campus...
