I have never been treated with such rudeness and humiliation in a restaurant until I tried this one. I was with a group of friends grabbing lunch at this place and I ordered a fried fish po’boy. The food came out, it was good portion but quite greasy. I didn’t like it but I ate it anyway and still had a good time with my friends. 15 minutes later when I was saying good-byes to my friends, I felt this strong sickness in my stomach and I had to puke. This has never happened to me before. I asked the cashier for the restroom but it was too far for me to make it. I started puking uncontrollably into a trash can inside the restaurant and spilled some out. While I was violently sick and throwing up, a woman (not sure if she works here or is the owner) came up to me. Instead of checking to see if I was ok or what food they served that made me so sick, she accused me for throwing up in her restaurant and said they can’t have me do that here, like I had control of my sickness. I was stupefied by what she said, so I suppressed my urge to throw up and apologized. I asked for cleaning supplies to help clean up, she said “just go, we will clean it” with a disgusted look on her face. I didn’t know what to do so I started walking out. A guy from the restaurant was nice enough to hand me a towel to wipe myself, but I was still in shock of what the lady said to me so I didn’t know how to respond. I felt terrible for being humiliated for throwing up by the restaurant staff, while the very reason for my sickness was caused by their food. I will not be going back to this restaurant again, and I hope no one else who dines there is treated the way I...
Read moreHere's the deal with Sea Salt - I'd simply say that when the weather is dialed in and the music is on, Sea Salt is WITHOUT QUESTION my favorite restaurant in the city. Even without those conditions it is always near the top of my list. For a beer or a bite. It all works.
So yeah the lines. I'm talking like 2 hours standing death march for a po boy. A po boy?? It's just a sandwich. DAMN RIGHT PEOPLE!!! GET IN LINE!!!
Notes The FRIED FISH PO BOY is amazingly reliable and simple and perfect The CRAWFISH PO BOY is what I wish I could go back and serve at my wedding or my high school graduation garage party thing that my mom made me have fancy fruit tarts at. Thursday evening and nothing to do? Try this: get on your bike, ride to Sea Salt, order CLAM FRIES and a BEER and be ready to PINCH YOURSELF because no you're not dreaming life really can get this good. CRAB STUFFED AVOCADO?? Don't mind if I do. Good for sharing as a 'side' if 2 or 3 of you are eating something else. CRAB CAKES? I mean do I even have to say how perfect these are? I go po boy over sandwich The SPECIALS are pretty consistent (red beans/rice, the pecan catfish thing, etc). They're all good. Duh. But they're basically always available. Nobody is confident enough to order the SEXY AHI TUNA BURGER by name. CALAMARI and SCALLOP TACOS are both good. I'd skip the others in favor of other menu options.

Read moreThe Minnehaha Park Pavilion that houses the popular seasonal restaurant "Sea Salt" is an open friendly, inviting place to eat, listen to the falls and people watch! Be Warned - Please be prepared to WAIT for quite while for your food, in the food line, especially on the weekends! The Sunday that we went there was ONE food line that snaked back out and down a trail path from the pavilion! We estimated that the food wait was well over an hour! There needs to be more Order Isles in my opinion to better serve the public!
Our family didn't eat here today, however the food is good! We just purchased alcoholic drinks which usually consisted of a short line, maybe 10 minutes tops so we could stroll about the park.
They have several local beers on tap - Surly, Bent Paddle, Indeed and a couple more. They also have wine taps - A Sangria, Cabernet, Penot Grigio and maybe 1 or 2 others. Very good simple choices but the prices are a bit spendy, so be prepared.
As for the bathrooms, they need to seriously keep up with the popular use of them, especially with those who have little kids. I'm not sure who's in charge of them but on busy days... I'll just say that they need to be checked often.
The Minnehaha Falls right now are spectacular! Since it's Spring they are running fast with a loud roar. Parking is $4.50. The views and trails are open so take the...
