As someone with a young toddler that lives in South Mpls, this is my new favorite park. First, shade. Park has shade, splash pad has shade, countless picnic tables shaded. The park equipment is top notch for all ages. The most big kids I've seen enjoying themselves as well as great accessibility for toddlers and anyone else who doesn't do well with stairs. The interactive pieces actually get interacted with. The baby swings aren't all short (my kid likes to swing high). Same company that does the equipment by our place and we love it. Big sand area with things to play with. Nice views for parents and tons of spots to sit. Didn't use the splash pad, but it looked fantastic. Good free parking...at least I think it was.

I REALLY loved this picnic area/outdoor playground/ splash pad (seasonal)! The location overlooks the Mississipi River/Ford Parkway bridge. It is right next to a VA Retirement home, but north of it and higher up on the bluff. The playground was wonderful, and it looks like in the summer, there is a gated portion that will have water features. They do have a structure with outdoor public bathrooms but it is only open between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In the meanwhile, they have a "Port-a-potty" available.

I'm hesitant to submit a review because I don't want more people to know about this park. It is great! the play area is shady with lots of varied equipment. I love the bench in the middle of the 'big kids' play structure mainly because my 1.5 year old thinks she is a big kid and that way I can keep an eye on her. The splash pad and playground are close enough together that going back and forth is easy. Seems like a park that not many people know about as even on a beautiful Saturday it wasn't insanely busy.

Exciting mpls park along river! A fun playground with accessible play options and swing. A small, fence enclosed zero depth entry splash pad/wading pool with nice shaded or sunny options for those not going in water. Plenty of space for picnic blankets and lots of picnic tables at the park. Bathrooms were close in proximity but very basic.

This is a good spot for families! The park is great for toddlers-10+ year olds and the splash pad is better suited for the younger kids but a fine place for anyone to cool off by sticking their toes in the water. Older children and adults could enjoy walking to nearby ford parkway bridge that overlooks the lock and dam, play catch or a yard game on the large grassy spaces, rent a bike from Wheel Fun located at nearby Minnehaha Falls or find the path that connects Wabun and to the falls.

Could easily spend several hours within a one mile radius...

This is a wonderful park with so much for kids to do. It’s assessable for all ability’s even wheel chair friendly. The surface of the play ground is made of a rubber like material instead of wood chips or gravel. They have a nice enclose picnic shelter with lots of tables to eat at and even a few scattered out door picnic tables. My family loves to bring a lunch and play at the play ground. In the summer they have a decent sized splash pad for the kids or even the adults 😉that’s open most days if the weather permits. This park offers something for everyone. There is grills available however you need to bring your...
