Mueller Park — Attraction in Minneapolis

I love this small, neighborhood park and all it has to offer within a seemingly small space! Love seeing neighborhood kids enjoy the playground and swing set, or the kiddie pool in the summertime. I personally love to lay out on the grass anywhere there isn’t shade and suntan on a beautiful warm day. Lowry Hill East Neighborhood Association does a great job of keeping it clean and hosting many fun events here such as the summer potlucks, co-sponsoring the Movies In The Park events, and a Halloween Family-friendly event here too! It’s a very dog friendly park, just keep them on a leash. The semi-circle memorial structure with a plaque dedicated to local resident Allan Spear, the first openly LGBTQ-elected legislator in the Midwest, and one of the 1st nation-wide, is a heartwarming and touching addition too. I’m so glad that his historic leadership in the Minnesota Senate is remembered here. I love this cute, lil park. It has an excellent playground, that I've brought my godson to. He is 4 and absolutely loved his time jumping and climbing and digging around. The wading pool was a hit, too! I've used the grill and picnic area, as well. I love, love, love that there is a grill. It's so nice to be able to use it and sit at the tables near by and enjoy being outdoors and eat some BBQ. There are some nice trees and plenty of space between the tables. We live where there's a park in every direction. Mueller is pretty much just okay, period. We have a 3-year-old, and for his age group, it seems that Loring's wonderful new playground is magical by comparison, albeit often with less kids; for sheer number of kids, Whittier can't be beat, and it feels much more open and inviting than Mueller Park. Bryant Park and the other park nearby on Lyndale, across from Twin Town Guitars, I'd say, are a bit better than Mueller. This all being said, Mueller is okay, we take our little one there.
