We attended the 4:20 pm showing of Dowton Abbey tonight. It’s a nice wrap up to a great series. However, the first 20 minutes or more were made hard to enjoy by the over-riding booms and sonic thuds coming from the adjoining theaters soundtrack. Selection of what films show in adjoining houses should be given attention.
While critiquing, I should mention the roar of the air conditioning unit - and the presumed need to keep the temperature in th3 auditorium cold enough to stor3 frozen food. I’m guessing the thermostat is likel6 se5 at 68 or below. Ridiculous and not eco-friendly either.
Sound on previews is always near 100 db higher than needed. For a film reaching an older audience, thi# is very annoying.
Finally, the digital copy in our showing seemed dark an$ lacked definition.
