So my friends and I drove from Wisconsin to this town for an event. We were excited to explore what this town had to offer, starting off with food. We drove passed this place named “Leaning tower of pizza” and thought that was great! Had a cool look to the outside, some nice plants. So we walk in, right away we are greeted with 6 dirty tables at the entrance, no one really to welcome people (which is fine). We found 1 sorta clean table and sat ourselves down. We had noticed that the place looks empty, maybe around 5 customers in the whole establishment. The bartender is the only one in the building. And he seemed overwhelmed. Frantically moving around he tells us he will be right with us. Brings us water and spills water on me (no problem mistakes happen) but no apology was received and as he walks away he throws the remaining spilled water on his server tray to the floor shaking it off (not a good look, no sign was placed for wet floors, and he did not dry it). So finally he comes back to get our order, but not before attending a couple that came in after we did first. After getting their order he takes our order. 4 slices of pizza, all different toppings, easy. He manages to convince us that we can just buy a full pizza and it would be the same price. So we said sure. The pizza comes out…. This thing looks like it was bought in a gas station. The top of the pizza slides right off, all the toppings were not layered evenly. Half the pizza had 1 topping the other half had two. It was just very disappointing the whole experience from start to end. After eating this cardboard of a pizza, the total came out to 18$ after going up to the counter to pay with a 20$, the girl he was with asked me if I wanted my change and I said yes, she rolls her eyes at me and puts my change on the table without even having her body turned towards me and looked away. I understand the service Industry, I’m a bartender, and I know good and bad service when I see it. I’m honestly very surprised this place has a 4.2 star rating. Must have been great in the past, it’s a shame that we went through this experience here. Hope whatever they are going...
Read moreAfter having a great first time there the second was a nightmare. I followed covid protocol and phoned a reservation just about an hour from when I wanted to show up with my friends I had been telling them about this place. We arrived right when we were supposed to and were told it would be 5-10min there was one other group ahead of us on the list. As we waited and saw them being seated by the manager of all people he comes back from the patio and tells me that a group walked in the back patio and took our table so it's going to be another 20-40min wait. We asked why he didnt have them check in and he said that would be kind of rude to make them get up after they just walked in!!! After this all 4 of us waiting for this table we had reserved obviously had some choice words for this "manager". We went outside to cool down from how upset we were and I headed back in to talk one on one with the "manager" explaining what he did was wrong and against state guidelines for COVID-19. His reply was that there was no requirement to continue taking reservations and had started talking walk up customers this week. Further more had told me we have been taking names and numbers for seats still but if theres an open table walk ups are more than welcome to seat themselves. Again I got upset by his way of trying to handle the situation explaining every restaurant is to follow these rules so they can track any infections to their place and further more we had placed the reservation well over an hour before when the same manager took my name and number. To end the story I argued my way into us taking the next table regardless of whatever list he wasnt following and he didnt even offer to take a % off the bill which was $200 and we tipped 20% because the waitresses we had were amazing but considering they were not following state guidelines idk if I'll be coming back, I'd like to considering I live 1blk away but I guess glthat decision will be made based off my conversation with the GM/Owner if it happens and if not the state will know about this because Its beyond unsafe to not follow those guidelines ESPECIALLY...
Read moreAfter coming here several years ago, I was very excited to be back. After seating myself, about 10 minutes went by before being waited on. Which wasn't bad considering there was only 4 tables of people in there and two servers...
All 4 times the sever visited the table she always made a point to apologize for it taking so long. For those of you unfamiliar with the place, it's not huge. Typically you make that eye contact with the server and usually initiates a table visit. This one did not. She would be on her phone at the cash register and just kind of nod and acknowledge she saw you as if you were just intending to say hi to her from across the room.
By biggest problem with this visit was checking out. She came to the table with the bill and I had my wallet open ready to hand her payment and she turned around and didn't return for over 10 minutes. After this she finally returned. I payed my $44 tab with a $100 bill. More often than not when visiting a restaurant, the server will go make change and return immediately before doing other things, unless they were busy which this was not. While waiting for my change I watched her folding napkins and playing with her phone. Then she greeted a couple walking in and got them drinks and menus. Then a short while later I saw her carry the $100 up to the bartender and she looked at it, then she went back to her computer an proceeded to do other things. I was honestly getting concerned than maybe I had a counterfeit $100 and they were stalling for the police to arrive-NOT THE CASE. About 15 minutes transpired after she took the bill and my money. I thought possibly she may have been confused thinking the change was a tip. It was at this point I went up to her and said "umm... Where is my change??" She proceeded to tell me she had to make change. I stood there and glared at her while she pulled $55 and change out of the till that was short of overflowing with cash to make change. I'm really extremely confused why they did this whole run around with my bill, it was very rude and unprofessional. The place was not even half full of...
