It's a pretty uppity place. But I did detect a bit of racism while I was there. if you look at my picture you can tell that I have olive skin especially when I'm standing next to someone that is really Caucasian. I was followed around by their staff while I was wearing $1,200 lucchese boots, and they treated me like I was going to steal something even up to the point where I was at the self checkout. I was feeling my front pants looking for my wallet and some old white woman walked up to me and asked me if I needed help like she caught me doing something or something.
After I was watched paying for my groceries, that very same white woman decided to take my basket without asking and I had to walk out of the store carrying all of my bags of groceries which was about 12 and I spent $85 in your grocery store. I'm sure you probably have other people it's been a whole lot more and they're probably more important but they really shouldn't be.
I've never seen a grocery store so racially divided. And for cause, as I was the only person in there that was not Caucasian. I'm a practicing Hebrew and I'm going to tell you I was deeply offended. the next time I come in your store I'll have a lapel cam on me and if y'all pull that crap again, I also have a law degree and I will be filing a lawsuit against your company. We are all just people. And when we stand before Yahweh in judgment, our skin color, and our culture will have no effect. As the word is very clear and it says the goats will be separated from the sheep. Let...
Read more3/3/19 I ordered delivery. While my order was correct, the delivery person was shockingly rude. He walked from my tiled entry way to my newly installed wood floor with his snow dripping shoes. I don't know what L&B's policies and procedures are for delivery, but if walking into a house with filthy dripping shoes, I'll use HyVee instead. Second problem, he chastised me for the payment method I selected because it was inconvenient for him. Why is that payment method available then? Third, insisted next time I use Instacart instead of their service. Fourth and finally, instead of allowing me to sign for my payment and delivery, he informed me that he'd initial for me and stated that he does it all the time--especially for old people because "they can't hold a pen straight".
I was so appalled!! I tried to call the store numerous times. No one answered. None of the extension numbers worked on their menu. Finally I got to an answering machine, but couldn't leave a message since the mailbox was full.
So, since I was obstructed from talking to anyone affiliated with or present at the store, I'm leaving this review for all the good people of Google.
My suggestion: Forget Lund's and Byerly's and simply use HyVee delivery instead. It's easier, more professional, and less of...
Read moreHonestly every experience prior to today was awesome with Lunds! Even the lead up to today’s specific interaction was great up until I get to checkout.. I meet eyes with a person pushing carts who was glaring at me. Starting off rough..
I then get asked if my groceries are for door dash when no other person checking out before me had been asked.. the main difference between me and them was the color of my skin. Literally never been asked in the many times I have been to Lunds. The persons only response was “ you never know”
Then the person that was pushing carts came to assist with bagging and they were glaring at me and my girlfriend the entire time. Literally no reason to be giving us the mean eye when all I want to do is get my groceries and go home.
I work in the medical field with patients everyday and I know bad days can happen. You can’t give 100% to every person. Even a face of indifference would have okay with me. But an intense glare multiple times...
