Café Zupas — Restaurant in Minnetonka

I still think about my experience at this Cafe Zupas over the summer - the customer service experience we had made a profound impact on our hearts. My fiancé and I came into this location and were greeted with SO much warmth! Everyone from the person cleaning the tables, to the people behind the counter, and the manager made us feel completely welcomed. Whats more, you could tell that everybody there was being moved by a mission greater than the food that they were serving: and that mission was CONNECTION!

This was the first time during the pandemic that I was somewhere out in public where everybody in the space made eye contact, asked questions with genuine interest, went above and beyond to take care of us, and made sure that true human connection (which has been feeling like a dying art) was their first priority. We talk about this experience all of the time - WOW! You guys totally made our day and taught us about the impact of true hospitality. The food was amazing too, but to be served with that high quality of kindness and service - especially during a time of so much disconnection and division, was something that we will never forget....

Cafe Zappa is usually a great spot, but today was really disappointing.

First, I had to repeat my order to three different people as I moved down the line, and they still seemed confused about what I ordered in the end. They quickly figured it out and it was to no problem of the employees themselves. It’s the system. How hard is it to have a simple system (like an order slip or sticky pos receipt) so the customer doesn’t have to keep repeating themselves? It felt unorganized and annoying to repeat myself.

Second, the specials/pricing need to be listed more clearly. I ordered the “chocolate duo apple cup” thinking it would be a light dessert. It was just some apple slices with (mediocre in my opinion) chocolate sauce—and they charged $12 for it! That’s almost the price of an entire meal! I should know better to ask the price but did not guess it would be anywhere over $10 for what you get from it. I would pay like $5 max for that thing.. Totally ridiculous and left me feeling ripped off.

Cafe Zappa is great and I love eating there, but things like this really take away from...

I have been to this Cafe Zupas in Minnetonka numerous times and have always been greeted with a smile and everyone is helpful even at the busiest times. I also pickup orders for Doordash on a regular basis and never had a problem which is a quite a pleasant surprise when some fast food places mess up orders regularly. I'm only as good as the restaurant I'm delivering for and Cafe Zupas near Ridgedale always takes care of me! I enjoy the variety especially the soup/salad and sandwich selection and some tasty desserts like the chocolate rice Krispy bars 😋....On a rare occasion at lunch or dinner rush they've offered me a drink for my inconvenience. Love the tea/juice varieties & on a rare occasion have been treated to a creme brulee at closing time when they're going to toss those in the garbage anyhow. Keep up the great work Cafe Zupas Minnetonka it's a pleasure doing business with a restaurant that appreciates...
