Went for the Paddleheads 2nd annual Clark Fork river clean-up, which was well-attended. Great to see parents and grands modeling for the kids that we, as a community, can take action against degradation by all those cigarette butts, used paper C19 masks, plastic bottles and beer cups, fast food waste, weird stuff, etc. Wish there were a national campaign with slogans like Lady Bird Johnson's "Give a hoot, don't pollute." Unfortunately, one leading cause of trash blowing all over the landscape is overflowing dumpsters with lids open. Like the one at Ogren stadium. Scary people who either need more or less meds, running around screaming at no one (not an exaggeration) were less abundant.
I cycle everywhere and the worst part is getting into & out of the park due to the scary druggie types living on the peripheries.
Seriously, when it 1st opened it was awesome, I used the park for doing my moving meditation, and tons of people used the bike path, and it was no more (or less) dangerous than any other outdoor space.
I hope the trend keeps improving, and I know the city is really trying to get ahead of the...
