My daughter's introduction to Discrimination: We were there earlier today, 12/26, at about 4:30pm, and she was The Only One who the manager measured for the water slide: the only one, while others shorter than her streamed by! That she smiled through her teeth through all of this was beyond repulsive. "Sorry honey you can't go on the slides!" smiles, smiles: others streaming by.
When we got back to the hotel, I remeasured my daughter - she has passé the 48 inch mark in our home town for Months, and did the same t Currents, except that the manager there insists that the LAW is ABOVE the line (the line it itself over an inch wide: my daughter is well into the middle of it). Well, "the LAW" will be visiting her shortly...and she can explain it to them. (I'm leaving her name out of this precisely because she is now in trouble with the law).
After I remeasured, I called the Police and it is indeed illegal (besides utterly repulsive) to single out ONE child from all the others. That she would do this the day after Christmas suggests that she is sort of especially disturbed: the sing-song smiling - no kidding right after she turned my daughter away, still smiling "Is there anything else I can do to help you?". Mercy: as if she had done anything but openly, proudly discriminate against only us.
I've been hearing that Discrimination was rearing up since the Election. I'm very sad to say: this seems to me just that. How sad...
True, the Police will pay them a visit (and then also find that they ask no one to shower, have babies in the hot-tiub, etc etc). But that there is this Discrimination alive and well and even openly laughing at those who call them out - this is pretty much wickedness itself. That she is so proud of it is just amazing.

Read moreGood place for the little littles with a nice shallow wading area. The staff are friendly. Bring your own padlock for the locker rooms, or purchase one for $4.50. Previously the lifeguards have been very attentive and alert while holding good coverage.
On our last visit things were much more lax as both guards on duty stood at one station at the base of the slides chatting for most of an hour and no one was staffed near the hot tub, ever. The blind spot of the lazy river was partly covered for part of the last hour just before more guards showed up before closing... then suddenly almost every station was covered. I get it is hard to find good help, and young children require less than 30 seconds to drown so full coverage and diligent attention is required in a facility that caters to the young swimmers. The new guards also need to be taught the movable guard chairs should be moved to post to provide a view over the wall to the blind spots rather than left 10 feet back from the pool edge in a corner against the wall for use.
Lots of life jackets available to borrow for your littles so you don't have to depend on the diligence of the lifeguards for your child's safety in an accident. Use them...
Read moreGood place for families & kids. Nice large swim area for kids with 1 little slide, small "waterfall" area and water spouts spraying up from the floor. They have a deeper area with a basket ball hoop and a "rock wall" climbing area. The rock wall is only available @ certain times so if your going to check that out be sure to ask the friendly people @ the desk. There is also 2 water slides there that are pretty fun for those that 4' or taller. There is no diving board and at least 2 life guards on duty at all times who are actually paying attention. There is also a rather large hot tub but the jets are pretty weak. They have 4 nice family changing rooms which make it easy to herd your small children & get everyone changed and ready to swim or go. Facility has always been very clean with...
