Stopped into this store when we were visiting family in town. First upon walking into the store a lady in the back yelled at my Daughter who is an adult not a child that backpacks were not allowed in the store. First it is a Loungefly mini backpack Purse. I explained to the lady it was a purse and she said it didn't matter she would have to leave it up front on the counter. I told my daughter to take it to the car that it wasn't safe to leave it with people she didn't know. It is not full of papers or books but her wallet and other important items women typically carry in their purse. The lady then got offended and started bad mouthing us. I would like yo support the cause but I would never recommend anyone shop in this store. We looked around for a few minutes and then left to visit other thrift stores in town. It really is to bad that this charity has such terrible help. If they made a few changes I think they could really be a place people want to shop instead they are a place we avoid every time we...
Read morePrices are really, really high. I'm all for thrift stores wanting to get a fair price, and it does support the shelter, which is a good cause. The problem I have with this place is that they price things over their retail value. A little tiny terra cotta pot that retails for .98 at Home Depot, they’re selling for $3. A pilled North Face fleece that is going for about $15-25 online, they’re asking $35. And on and on. I’ve politely mentioned the high prices to them before and I was immediately dismissed (Oh, well I have nothing to do with the prices!) And that’s a totally fair answer, but why not offer to pass along customer feedback to someone who does control the prices? And why be so dismissive? You can still find good deals, but expect to feel a fair amount of sticker shock if...
Read moreWay too expensive! While I definitely think they have a decent selection, their prices are crazy. $16 for a ripped, thin tapestry from India? New, they're $15-$20. Many items do have issues too, like bleach stains, hem rips, etc, which is of course why they're in a thrift store. But said items should be priced like the damaged, used clothing they are. $25 for a ripped Patagonia shirt is way too much. Overall, they really do have the best selection in town, but I've always left empty handed because of the prices which is a bummer because their mission is...
