I was hesitant to make this review but after seeing that others have had similarly experiences, I felt compelled to share. My friend and I spent over an hour in the store and were followed and harrassed by a women (I later learned is the owner) the entire time. She followed us for a good half an hour/45 minutes before approaching and asking if I would like a basket. I indicated I would like one, that's when she GRABBED THE ITEMS out of my hands and walked off with them! I made my way to the front and retrieved my items and basket after she just tossed then in one and then left them on the counter. I continued my shopping and then went to checkout. In the que she followed us so closely my friend became uncomfortable and let her know. As we were checking out I let the cashier know that this women had been very unprofessional and had made us very uncomfortable. She tried to inform us she would let management know but before she could even finish the women came right behind us. She was standing so close we had to ask her to step back. She rudely started to justify her actions as loss prevention. I was a loss prevention manager for over 2 year's and this is not how it is done. I informed her of such and let her know I found her actions to be incredibly rude and lacking in manners. Ive been a customer of spirit for over 10 years. Read moreThis store keeps items on the shelf that are no longer for sale - and there's no communication between staff. Our 4 yr old daughter was very excited and this was her first time to a Spirit Halloween. They only have 1 or 2 sizes in each girl's costume, and when our daughter finally found one she liked that was on display? We were headed to the register when a women - who was very nice - stopped us and said she needed to find a bag for the costume that had the extras in it. She couldn't find it since someone else had put it in the back without explanation as to where. She took the dress and said she would call us once it was found. Initially we were notified that they couldn't find the package so they would let us have the dress free of charge. I thanked them and said we would be in this afternoon to get it. I later received a text stating that someone else had purchased it yesterday and they were giving it to her.
Improve your team communication. Improve your inventory system. Don't leave items out that aren't for sale.

Read moreWe got everything we needed and more! Service was wonderful. I understand the need to be cautious about people taking things. Although, of course not everyone does this, there is so much of it that store owners don't have a choice but to watch and be smart. They are losing so much money from theft that they have to raise their prices every year. It hurts all of us in the long run. Just smile when you see employees doing their job and watching you. It could keep prices down for all of us! I was treated okay. Employees weren't joyful by any means, but they were very helpful. However, I saw a few customers being pretty rude to the employees as well. Rules are made to protect the merchandise people, so respect those who have to protect it please.
