Modory Home Furnishings — Local services in Missoula

My wife and I purchased a couch from Modory and have been exceedingly dissatisfied with the couch and how the deficiencies were handled by the store. The room in our home was oddly shaped so we opted to have a custom made couch built by the furniture company Nathan Anthony. This was a very expensive piece of furniture from what we thought was a reputable company. Nathan Anthony positions itself as high-end furniture and its website extols its exceptional quality and attention to detail. The fabric on the couch was terrible from the start. It developed sheen and immediately stretched out so the fabric sagged on the cushions. Also, the cushions began to break down after about a year. Much to my displeasure, this very expensive couch looked terrible after about a year and a half. It was interesting to contrast the Nathan Anthony couch versus a lower priced couch in another room in our house that was more than ten years old and still looked great. I then contacted Modory and spoke with Barb the woman that initially helped us with the purchase. Barb looked into the matter with the company and brought up the issue with the owner of Modory. The solution that was offered was deficient at best. The manufacture offered to send a “wrap” to put on the cushions to stop them from breaking down. The fabric quality was never addressed. Barb is a very nice person and handled the situation gracefully however, my expectations were not meet. I requested the contact information of the owner of Modory and was told that I could not have it and he MIGHT contact me. This situation is disappointing in many ways, we went out of our way to support a local business and happily paid more for good service and what we thought was quality. It is unfortunate that previous customer who wrote a review had a 1 star experience because every single interaction we have had with Modory has been a 5 star extravaganza! In May 2017 we worked with Barb to purchase several pieces for our new home, and every single piece is of the highest quality and the delivery service was white glove (...they felted every piece of furniture to ensure our hardwood floors were protected - AND - they arrived ahead of schedule to deliver!) This was our fifth purchase of furniture from Modory and what we truly appreciate about this store is the quality and variety of their products. Barb is fantastic to deal with and took the time to understand our needs and worked with us over the course of several weeks to "get it just right." We live 100+ miles outside of Missoula and while there are closer furniture stores - there are none as good as what...

I cannot convey how much we appreciate all of the guidance, support, professionalism and genuine kindness from the entire staff at Modory. From choosing our furnishings to the delivery, they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our selections. Always taking extra care during the delivery and set up process, was a bonus! My husband and I built a new house and were in need of many items to create our "home". Lea was very knowledgeable while suggesting items to match the style and feel that I was hoping to create, in our home.
