Ordered: Garlic Hot Sauce Beef Stir Fry (extra-spicy), South Vietnamese Curry Stir Fry w/ Chicken (extra-spicy), and Tofu Spring Rolls. The food was ready for pick-up within ~20 minutes. The spring rolls were very light and fresh with mint. The fried tofu inside was tasty. The two stir fry were similar in taste, in part because they shared the same mixture of vegetables, but I slightly preferred the creaminess of the coconut curry. The meats (beef and chicken) were tender in both. The stir fry sauces were hot and oily, which I like, but might be too heavy if you had to return to work afterwards. The portion size was much bigger than I anticipated, so two people could probably split a single stir fry. The food is reasonably priced, especially compared to Missoula's downtown restaurant scene. A single dish at a comparable Thai place (I know Pho Vi is Vietnamese, not Thai) downtown will probably cost upwards of $16, whereas at Pho Vi, each stir fry is $13.50. And again, with the large portion size, you get a lot of bang for your buck. One warning: Careful while transporting the food home in your car. I was holding the bag as the passenger and a fair bit of stir fry sauce leaked out onto my pants. I'd gladly eat here again. The food has a great home-style taste. Friendly place. Go...
Read moreI’ve been trying to come here for a few years and I finally made it for lunch today. Other times they were closed, or said they were too busy and stopped serving early. Unfortunately it was a really disappointing meal. The service was unfriendly. I ordered tea and the tea cup had small pieces of hair in it and specks of dirt, their dishwasher doesn’t seem to be doing the job. The tea pot was also corroded and not clean. I asked if they could bring me a clean one, and they brought another dirty cup and tea pot. The spring rolls I ordered were dried out, the spring roll wrapper wad clearly stale and old. The peanut sauce served with it is more like a brown sugar sauce with no peanut flavor. The vegetable tofu pho had an ok flavor to it, but none of the traditional flavors of pho like star anise. All the vegetables were mushy and overcooked and the serving of tofu was small. Basically, I’ve eaten at much better pho restaurants. Only it Montana would a place with this low quality of food get 4 or 5 star reviews, because there’s no other...
Read morePho is hard to find in MT. This is a good place for it and I did like their broth flavor a lot. They also give good amount and quality of herbs and bean sprouts, but provided a lemon vs a lime. Maybe this is a regional preference, but not right flavor for me. Also good: They use the correct/typical type and size of rice noodles. They didn't have hoisin or Sriracha on the table (or other typical condiments) and only gave me a small amount when I asked, maybe a tablespoon total of both- could be they typically have them out but didn't that day. Their fresh rolls were ok, except they came with what can only be described as an awkwardly bad teriyaki sauce. Wish they'd do a nuoc Cham or at least a peanut sauce. I'd go back if I were in town, and could request the things I like (maybe you can?!), but I won't be traveling...
