Hayes Jewelers — Attraction in Mobile

My now fiancé and I were recommended Hayes Jewelers when we decided to shop around and see what potential engagement rings I liked best. We were specifically recommended Marshall, but he unfortunately was not in the day we visited. At first we had great customer service by Mary and a coworker. Super nice and attentive, but Mary was very direct at times and things came across slightly aggressive—gave the benefit of the doubt and continued working with her. We disclosed that we were simply window shopping for the day—but I later found out that, after I walked out for him to ask private questions, Mary was very quick to try and take a deposit and get things rolling (I hadn’t found anything I liked with her…); and when my fiancé told her not today, she responded with attitude and tried to instill doubts about our future proposal. That same day we found business elsewhere and had more luck, but there were still things in motion at Hayes Jewelers with Mary. Days later, she called my fiancé to give an update on diamonds that came in if we wanted to check them out, which is when he informed her he had completed his business elsewhere and he appreciated her help with everything. She was immediately offended, asked where we went to which she responded with snobby arrogance; she brought out the attitude, scoffed and said with all the disrespect and insincerity that she hoped everything went well, and hung up on my fiancé. To make it all worse for her, she was trying to overcharge my fiancé by a couple thousand dollars compared to where he ended up completing business. She is simply a tantrum-throwing, self-serving, money-hungry saleswoman whose “customer service” tactics are so disappointing. Wish I truly had something nicer to say as the visit started out decent (hence the 2 stars), but the overall business from her turned out to be the ickiest experience we could have received regarding what should have been an exciting and celebratory time. I hope our experience is the only one like it with her and the rest of her business is actually respectful; and if not, then hopefully this review will push her...

Skip the big box jewelry stores and come here! I have an engagement ring with a solitaire moissanite stone and I had purchased a wedding band that contoured with the engagement ring from Jared. When I originally purchased the wedding band, Jared had indicated they could solder my bands together, and that was the deciding factor in my purchase. After my wedding, I brought my rings to Jared where I was told they could not service my rings because of the moissanite on my engagement ring. I was devastated! Needless to say, they recommended Hayes. I walked into the store and they immediately greeted me, assuring me they could work on my ring with no problems. The jeweler even mentioned they can do practically anything because they have a laser machine the big box stores often don’t have. Further, I went in on June 27 and they promised my ring by July 10, but it was ready on June 29! The ring turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined - you can barely tell it was soldered! I was visiting my aunt in Mobile, Alabama when I noticed that one of the prongs on my diamond engagement ring was severely bent. I have no idea how that happened, but I knew that if I didn’t get it fixed, I would lose the diamond. We looked On Google for someone to fix it and found Hayes jewelers. They were nearby and had good reviews, and also offered same-day service for such issues. I gave them a call and they said I could bring it right in. From the time I got there until the time my diamond was brought back to me, scrubbed clean, and fixed perfectly, I would say it took about five minutes. The people in this store are so professional and absolutely lovely to work with. I cannot say enough things about the kindness and professionalism that you will find if you take your jewelry there. They also have a very nice selection of things for sale. They are a 10 out of 10 as far as I am concerned. It is also easy to get into their parking lot and they have plenty of parking.
