If any of you who grew up in Monona remember over 15 years ago when Schluter was just had a swing set and a crane toy, the algae so bad where you had to measure the safety of swimming all the time; the Schluter beach of today is a beach where all can enjoy. The bike station (Ebike and bike fix-it station) is one where travelers will love, the new restrooms are ones where you feel safe, the benches are great to sit and enjoy the view with Babcock Hall ice cream from The Bait Shop. The playground is made for hours of fun for the kids! The new access to the lake is great to relax and enjoy the water. My family and I always go ever summer and spring to enjoy the lake. Even in fall it's beautiful. From historical standpoint I love to visit and research the Monona that once was, so many historical points starts at...

This park was named in honor of my cousin, George Schluter, who was a pilot and the first Monona casualty of World War II. My siblings and I spent many happy years there, as did my own children while they were young. We took Red Cross swimming lessons at the beach. Our home on Schluter Road is now on the list of Historic Places. I believe the address was 5301. This picture is myself and my...

This is a small park with access to Lake Monona and on the Monona Bike Loop. There's a playground, swimming beach, dock, and kayak/canoe launch. It's across the street from Monona Boat and Tackle; an ice cream and sandwich shop.

There are plenty of picnic tables and adirondack chairs for the public.

There's also self-service kayak and electric...

Great small local park with great bike resources and facilities. Updated play structures, dock and swim beach bring life to this neighborhood slice of Heaven that has a family owned ice cream shop across the street. This park has plenty for any visitor to enjoy the lakeside outdoors.
