Update September 22, 2020:
While their newest team member attempted professionally to correct this matter, I still do not have a correctly repaired washer.
The 4th service technician just left and did not listen when I asked that the washer be put back in the condition it was found. He instead apparently could not get the top piece to snap back down onto the unit so he just left it as it was. Then proceeded to tell me that I owed for today's service call. Nope, do not think so.
So with yet another "correct box and incorrect part from Whirlpool", my washer will continue to run using the maget workaround until the day I have to purchase a new. Needless to say I am done doing business with Durocher's.
Still waiting on that refund check though for parts already purchased!!
.......................................................................................... I purchased my first ever brand new washer and dryer set 5 years ago. I listened to my family and my husband's family and made our purchase there instead of the big box stores, as they have all done for generations. I had also gone on to purchase our new gas stove from them a year later. I was pleased a few years ago when the washer required a service call. I opted for the warranty so everything was covered, no issues. Now July 28th 2020 the washer, a Whirlpool Cabrio, throws a door lock code and will not run. I call Durocher's and they send someone out the next day to look at it. I'm told while it's a common problem that the part unfortunately needs to be ordered. We pay $99 and additional $101 to cover half of the payment for the part. Today August 18th, three weeks after my initial call the repair guy shows up to begin the work. After an hour I am then told that not only is the part wrong, the part is no longer made!!!!! Also that I just need to go and buy a new washer. Seriously??? How was that not a known fact 3 weeks ago when I told the rude woman at the service desk what the issue was? Or when the first technician came out to check over the machine?? Nope! Waited until the wrong part was in hand and at my house.
Ten minutes the technician has been gone and I decide to dive down a rabbit hole on Google and guess what....a damn magnet (that's right a plain old refrigerator magnet!) is a work around. I placed the magnet under the solenoid and voila! I'm back to washing towels already as I type.
Moral of my story....I will never spend another penny in that store; I will never allow my father-in-law to spend there. That new refrigerator, new dishwasher and new couch I have plans on replacing this fall will be...
Read moreMy husband and I purchased a new stove and new refrigerator from Durocher’s.
When they were delivered, there was a scratch & ding in the door. It was small, but still...this stuff was very expensive, and it was the first time he and I have ever purchased new appliances so we wanted them to be nice when we got them.
We asked for a new door and made an appointment for them to bring us a new one. We made arrangements for one of us to be home when the door came. The worker went to install it, and there was an even larger scratch on the new one, so he packaged it up and left. Waste of time for everyone involved.
2 days before Thanksgiving, our oven stopped working—what a PAIN! So much baking to do but we couldn’t bake in our BRAND NEW oven. We called and made an appointment for a worker come out to inspect it. For the second time—my husband and I made arrangements so one of us could be home. After inspecting the oven, the worker determined the igniter was bad. At this point we had only had our stove for 2 months. He was able to fix it, but he said it was just a temporary fix and needed to come back again.
My husband and I made arrangements to be home on our THIRD appointment. The day of the appointment, the worker came to install the part in our oven, and when he unboxed the item it was broken. Once again—it was a waste of time for everyone involved. We have to now schedule a FOURTH appointment, which we are hoping will be our final appointment for our oven and fridge door.
The amount of time we have spend on these new appliances has been beyond frustrating. It is such an inconvenience when we make these appointments and the workers don’t realize that the parts they brought are damaged until they get to our home. I also feel that it is important to mention that we have not received any money back.
The selection at Durocher’s is very nice, but because of the process my husband and I are currently going through, I would not recommend Durocher’s to...
Read moreDurochers is a perfect example of a local company failing to meet the expectations of the modern consumer. I needed a remote for a Samsung TV and had the choice to shop local, or order from Amazon. I decided to support the community and shop local.
My wife and I walked into Durochers and were greeted by one pleasant sales woman. We walked back to the parts counter and stood at the desk while we were ignored by the FOUR employees sitting at their computers. Why were there four people doing the work of two, I'm sure I have no idea. But we were eventually greeted and directed to the parts manager, who took our order. But he couldn't actually process and take payment for the order, we had to wait for another employee to take it, which happened eventually. She told us they would order the remote when they had enough parts to order in bulk, about a week.
Fast forward two and a half weeks later, I call Durochers on a Saturday to see if my remote had arrived. The lady who answered the phone said that she couldn't check parts inventory for some reason that's beyond me, and that I had to check back Monday. That day, I got sick of waiting, so I went to Best Buy to buy a remote and got it the same day for cheaper than what Durochers sold it to me for.
Now I call Durochers this morning, and they said that the remote had come in the previous week, and that we were just not contacted about it. Poor customer service, high prices and sales with an attitude. All the qualities I'm finding in local establishments lately unfortunately. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing anything from Durochers in the future. All over the poor service we received over...
