Out of town visitor here. The location was difficult to find, but I ended up making it in (beware of the steep drive through). The service was straight forward, there’s no seating, and the time for order can range from 15 minutes-1.5 hours, according to the cashier. I ordered a salad and although the croutons were excellent, the chicken was underwhelming. The cookies which is one of my favorites lacked flavors and was a bit oily tasting. I would be willing to try out different items at this restaurant in future. Update to follow.

I have only one food place that excites me when I return to Monroe. I recommend that you check out their specials which are posted daily on Facebook. Their sandwiches are imaginative and soups dependable. The breads are nice too. They keep a pretty short line at the counter. I recommend avoiding a wait by ordering ahead. They only do carryout.

This is a 6 year later update to a review I made on this place. I've been eating the same sandwich for several years here. Going to miss Nick and Elise but I can say that the place is in excellent hands and nothing has changed. Same quality and care in everything they make. Everything tastes exactly the same. Amazing sandwiches and breads!

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP** Unfortunately, this is no longer the Erie Bread we all know and love. My office orders from here at least once a week spending $50-$100 each time. I had noticed in the past few weeks that the bread (pizza roll) on my BLTA was burnt but I didn't want to bother them by calling. Yesterday my bread was burnt to the point I didn't want to eat it and then I realized my sandwich was missing avocado, which is the whole point of a BLTA. I called and was told by the front desk that they were too busy to deal with my complaint and the owner would call me in a few hours once they slowed down. I finally received a call at 6PM, the owner said he finishes each and every sandwich and that he cant imagine he forgot the avocado and that he doesn't remember any bread being burnt. He then asked me if I took a picture and I said no, I personally didn't think I would need a picture to prove my dissatisfaction. I also mentioned that when I called right away to complain the girl on the phone never mentioned that I would need a photo and the call back I got 6 hours later a picture was no longer possible. I then flat our asked, is not making a $9 sandwich correction worth losing business from an office that orders so often?? and he said YES, what kind of customer service is this?? With this attitude he will sure ruin the reputation Erie...

The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, everything is always fresh, and it blows every sandwich shop around, far, far, away. Thank goodness the food is so great, bcuz the customer service isn't always as great. I understand they are busy, but being rude to customers because you're busy isn't right either. Calling ur order in ahead is always best, but some people don't know that. I recently had a friend try it out, and walked in during lunch, placed an order and was told a 45 min wait, which he was willing to do bcuz he heard it's amazing, but when the woman at the register made him feel like an idiot for not calling in his order, a single sandwich at that, he was embarrassed and decided her nasty attitude wasn't worth the wait. He didn't know u needed to call in for one sandwich. Mabey hiring some extra help to try and make service a little quicker, instead of making a customer feel like a nuisance would be the better thing to do. Personally I will deal with a little attitude for such delish, unique sammies, but not...

I used to brag about this place and how good it was! Until recently.. ever since the blonde older women stopped working the quality of the food has gone down horribly. They barely put any meat, sauce, and/or toppings on the sandwiches. They also tend to over toast the sandwich’s where part of the bread is usually burnt. But my latest issue is that I’ve ordered the BLTA (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado) the past 4 times we’ve ate here and the last 3/4 had no avocado. What’s the point of ordering a BLTA if you don’t get the avocado. The last time I had to mention it over the phone to make sure they put it on the sandwich, and when I received the sandwich they barely put any on it. One half had three small slices and the other had two...
