Response to business: 1. I CAME DETANGLED ,2. SHE ADDED CURLING CREAM TO MY HAIR AND PUT A DIFFUSER TO MY HEAD, 3. THE ONLY PLACES THAT CHARGE EXTRA FOR TEXTURED HAIR IS WHITE AND HISPANICS SALONS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. 4. SHE COMBED THRU MY HEAD FROM ROOTS TO TIP . TEXTURED HAIR IS TO BE COMBED FROM TIP TO ROOTS HENCE ALL THE TANGLE AND MATTED NESS. 6 MY SCALP WAS STILL DIRTY !!!!! 7. IM NOT THE ONLY BLACK GIRL WHO LEFT A COMPLAINT ABOUT YALL NOT KNOWING HOW TO PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF TEXTURED HAIR. CHECK YOUR OTHER REVIEW PLATFORMS. Yall cater only to straight hair like please stop trying to make money off black people . To my melanated girlies … do not I repeat do not come here. They do not know how to handle OUR hair. If you have natural African American hair you will not have the same 5 star experience like you see here. I was so embarrassed by the state of my hair I left with my hoody on paid and rushed out. Embarrassed. If you are melanated don’t be discouraged they do have places for us but this ain’t one. 1 . The picture i attached is the $40 blowout I paid for. And the high frequency is your edges only. 2. Now there is a 4c girl claiming they can handle our hair… her hair is not medium length or long or seems to be full. You will leave with dry brittle hair. I had to do a masssive detangling session when I left. She said she used some product for my curls …lol. My head was matted my head hurts. 3.To my tockers this is not the place I seen online. It’s over hyped. I paid 200$ lol not worth it. 4.The worker was nice her name was Roxy and she did try. But if it wasn’t in her scope she really should have turned me away or been transparent. Honestly I couldn’t wait to leave. My head is sore. I was promised a clean scalp and that the dead skin would be removed but I’m home with flakes in my scalp in some areas. We did not look at my scalp at the end.

We've been wanting to try this head spa and finally made it happen! Both my boyfriend and I did the signature head spa option (75 min) and thoroughly enjoyed it. You're able to customize your massage pressure, water temperature, and choose an essential oil. It was fully relaxing. Who doesn't love getting their head massaged? Next time we'd probably opt for the classic head spa service over the signature service as it seems signature is more catered towards thinning hair. Regardless, my scalp felt amazing and rejuvenated after leaving the spa! One note, is that the spa itself is downstairs so if you have limited mobility or are unable to go down/climb a staircase, this wouldn't be accessible.

This is definitely not the kind of “spa” I thought it would be. It’s 1 room then has sheets dividing up two areas to make each private. The water pressure was close to nothing- could barley feel it on my head. I also questioned the cleanliness of the place and the tools used. There was a dirty wet towel with brown residue (maybe makeup) sitting on the sink when I got into my “area”, obviously from the person before. I did the classic for $160. It definitely was not worth the money and I spent the entire 75 five minutes cold and feeling dirty.

DISGUSTING Customer Service – AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Aura Head Spa in Montclair is hands down one of the most unprofessional, heartless businesses I’ve ever encountered. My husband booked me an appointment as a thoughtful gift, but as a 37-week pregnant woman, I realized that lying flat on my back for an hour was neither safe nor comfortable. A few hours before my appointment, I called to politely ask if I could reschedule. I wasn’t asking for a refund—just to move the appointment. The first person I spoke to coldly shut me down immediately. No flexibility, no understanding—just a blunt “no.” Then the owner called me back, and that’s when things went from bad to downright insulting. First, they claimed there was a pop-up during booking about their pregnancy policy. That is an outright LIE. If such a warning had existed, my husband would have never booked in the first place. Even worse, their FAQ page says absolutely NOTHING about pregnancy restrictions. Instead of taking responsibility for their failure to properly disclose this policy, the owner tried to shift the blame onto me. And then came the most condescending, insulting part: The owner actually asked me, “Did you just realize you were pregnant?” Excuse me? I am 37 weeks pregnant—what kind of ridiculous, patronizing question is that?! The sheer rudeness and lack of professionalism were beyond shocking. Instead of taking a moment to show basic human decency, they doubled down on their terrible attitude. Then, in a weak attempt to look “reasonable,” the owner said, “I’m right and you’re right. I’m trying to compromise and give you back 50%.” To which I responded: What’s the point if we have to spend more money than simply extending the courtesy as a first-time customer and rescheduling me? This wasn’t an offer of compromise—this was a money grab. Rather than simply rescheduling me, which would have cost them nothing, they preferred to force me to pay more just to rebook. It was clear that they cared more about squeezing every last dollar out of me than treating customers with fairness. The fact that this business would rather gaslight, steal money from, and mock a pregnant woman instead of showing even the slightest bit of respect is absolutely vile. They have no compassion, no ethics, and no clue how to run a business. And let’s be clear—this isn’t just about policy. It’s about how they treat their customers. The refusal to reschedule was one thing, but the blatant lies, rudeness, and complete lack of accountability make this place one to avoid at all costs. If you’re considering booking here, DON’T. There are plenty of places that offer similar services without the horrendous attitude and shady policies. Spend your money somewhere that actually...

As someone who has been driving to South jersey for head spas for several months I was ecstatic when this location was being promoted on social media. I quickly booked not one but two appointments. Upon arriving I was shocked how small this location is. Its two areas separated by a tent like structure. It's narrow & small, but I still remained hopeful. The person who I was with was pleasant and we chatted for a while until she told me I had to stop speaking because there was someone next door in the tent like structure. Granted I never want to make anyone's experience less relaxing so I instantly stopped talking......but it felt so strange that this is their system. The head spa was not at all what I was used to. I found they didn't really massage much. They use a bunch of tools but not a lot of scrubbing techniques & there isn't much or a face hand or arm massage. These are all things I'm used to with a head spa. The head massager utilized was awesome but someone hand massaging pressure points on the scalp is what I was looking for. The waterfall ring being placed on the next is great but mine was shooting into my nose the whole time. This is the first head spa I have ever had where I did not fall asleep because it wasn't relaxing enough by any means. When your done they do not provide you with an extra towel for your hair. I have hair down to my lower back and it was soaked. You walk out of the tent and there is a teeny tiny shelf in the middle of the floor by the door with a couple of hair products and a blow dryer. I opted not to utilize the blow dryer due to someone else having their service done so my hair was drenched. It's uncomfortable to have to do your hair in the middle of the floor with the front desk person sitting there and whoever was sitting at the window just stared off. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and asked how things were. I wasn't about to start sharing all of this considering I was asked to stop speaking once. All in all I left & promptly canceled my next appointment. I think if this is your first time head spa you'll enjoy it but definitely not what I find a relaxing experience by any means. I hope in the future they work on this location and add rooms which provide privacy and relaxation. Also maybe some hand towels in the bathroom. A hand dryer seems to defeat the purpose of keeping quiet.

Some of the pros: Parking outside. Hair products. Cleanliness. Cons: Size. Lack of privacy. Water pressure is off. Lack of massage. Unable to speak. Lack of...

Review of Aura Head Spa:

My experience at Aura Head Spa was nothing short of extraordinary, offering a comprehensive and deeply rejuvenating journey that left me feeling utterly pampered and revitalized.

From the moment I stepped into the tranquil ambiance of Aura Head Spa, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The Signature Aura Head Spa package promised an extensive array of treatments, and it certainly delivered beyond expectations.

The session began with a relaxing scalp massage using essential oils, expertly designed to release tension and promote circulation. This was followed by a meticulous hair wash and conditioning treatment that left my hair feeling silky smooth and nourished.

The addition of the Hydrodhara warm hair growth drip and the AWAKEN hair growth scalp facial were standout features of the experience. These treatments not only enhanced the health of my scalp but also left my hair visibly healthier and more vibrant.

The facial component with a sheet mask, alongside the soothing massages using a jade roller, Gua Sha, and high-frequency techniques, provided a perfect blend of relaxation and skincare benefits. The mini hot stone massage further elevated the experience, melting away any remaining tension in my neck and shoulders.

Throughout the session, the therapist demonstrated exceptional skill and attentiveness, ensuring every aspect of the treatment was tailored to my needs. The additional massage time was a generous touch, allowing me to fully unwind and enjoy every moment of the spa experience.

As the session concluded with a blow-dry, I left Aura Head Spa feeling rejuvenated from head to toe. The results were not only visible but also tangible, as my hair felt healthier and my skin glowed with renewed vitality.

Overall, Aura Head Spa offers an unparalleled sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether you're looking to indulge in comprehensive hair and scalp care or seeking a serene escape from daily stresses, this spa exceeds expectations with its luxurious treatments and exceptional service. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to treat themselves to a truly transformative...
